I agree with the fact that owners and non owners have something to offer. I also agree you may in fact have experiences that many owners have not had and can add to the forum. I don't think this site is all that about ownership.
Right on. The general sections do not offer what the subsections offer and there you'll find answers from those that know specifics. Try lurking for a little while, introduce yourself and then act like a "gentlemen" - you'll get everything you need and people are very helpful. One more thing to consider is that there are quite a few Fchat member's who are not owner's but that does not take anything away from our passion for the marque. You only need the love for Ferrari to be accepted into this great family.
There was a poll here recently and I think about 70% on Fchat owned Ferraris. (I'm proud to say that I'm one of them)
Never heard Jerry call himself anything but Jerry and he proudly drives his cars. I think a change in approach might be a little help. I for one do not own a 360 and likely never will so I have no credibility on that front. Why might I ask, did you choose the 01 model? Dave
Agreed - if you want to know what someone owns simply click on their profile. Most are filled in Mind you, best get mine updated!
It shows diversity of ownership. The person owns other vehicles and thus can speak to/about them when the topic arises, for example, the common topic of Corvette vs. Ferrari. There was a guy in a Porsche forum I'm in who had owned a Ferrari 328. If he didn't have it in his sig. I likely wouldn't have know about it and couldn't have asked him questions about his preference to the 914. I find it interesting plus you never know, you might find someone with a similar car and strike up a conversation outside the forum I find it easier than having to click on someone's profile!
Wow. A while back, there was a thread asking the same thing. I was the only one who admitted to not owning a Ferrari. I encouraged non-owners to "come out of the closet" but none did.
Although I am not a Ferrari owner, I'm very passionate about the brand and their products. This forum makes it possible to check in with those living my dream of one day owning an Italian legend! Of the 50,000+ members here maybe 5% is optimistic. But of the regular posters there is a high percentage of owners. I would guess in the range of 40-60% own (or have previously). It is very true that non-owning enthusiasts have much information and add tremenously to this site. BT
I'm a non owner too, although I do own a 1972 Lotus. The "poor man's" Ferrari! I'm like you in that I'm full of excuses why I don't have one yet *S*. Ken
That math doesn't work out at all. 5% of 50k is only 2,500. Actually, many of the owners have less time on their hands to be that active and you know how many of the actives are owners. What % have owned a Ferrari, own a Ferrari, and will own a Ferrari?
