What part of the US do you think the most F-Cars are located?
If we have to consider amount of people, and size I would say Monaco, England or Germany. In the US, I would imagine Ca. also
I took an educated guess since I once read that the west coast of FLA had the most independent Ferrari shops in the US, and of course, CA is a no brainer.
I live in south Florida. Not a day goes by that I do not see at least two Ferraris, and numerous other exotics, on the street. Not to mention the Porsches and Jaguars. In my office building there is a Maybach and a Murcielago. New Rolls, no problem. I find myself checking out old muscle cars instead. This poll will be skewed by the location of the respondents and may not really show the true exact location of the highest concentration of Ferraris. But I would agree that it is in south Florida and southern California.
I live in Upstate New York, north of Buffalo. To say the least, not many Ferraris to spot. One day I was at a traffic light in my 456M GT along side a 550 Maranello. I have seen a 360 Spider since then, so I have now counted on one hand the total of Ferraris hereabouts. We're set to travel to Paris. Last time we were there my son and I counted numerous 456M's, 575's, and 360's while sitting at the proverbial side-walk cafe(s). Just north of me across the border in the Toronto area there are several on the road, however.
I agree... I can account for 10 Enzos alone between NY/NJ On my last visit to Socal... I stopped counting all the Maranellos and Modenas I saw.
Bernie, I like your how your avatar keeps showing more and more leg! Soon you will have to move to off topic to post!!!
I have heard over the years that Montana has a very high number of Ferraris registered in the state. Knowing our registration and tax laws this wouldn't surprise me. We don't pay a sales tax on the purchase of a car. Most of them are older rare cars. Greg Garrison had most of his cars registered with Montana plates. I was at Pebble Beach a few years ago and saw one of his Superfasts and a 275 GTB registered in my county after talking with him found that he owned property here.
Hmmm...didn't Vref hijack this thread. The initial thread question was where do you live with your Ferrari? You guys are posting dense populated states/cities w/ high sightings. What about a per-capita based estimate as a measure. Of couse your going to see more in Cali, Fla, NY.....not to re-hijack. but to answer the initial thread Louisville, KY is where it resides
One way to look at this is to ask, in which markets are most new F-cars are sold? From what I've gathered, SF area probably buys 20-25% of new F-cars sold in US (btwn what's sold at FofSF and what's imported into area from FofBH, etc). Probably next biggest market in absolute size/concentration is Greenwich, CT (even more than rest of NYC area)...and let's not forget that many of those new F-cars seen around Hamptons or Palm Beach in-season are those of Greenwich/NYC-based owners for their winter/summer houses. LA may actually only closely battle Greenwich/NYC for 2nd biggest/most concentrated new F market. To esp think in terms of concentration, recall that NYC and LA are each 18MMish-sized regions, but SF is only about 6MM. From what I've seen, LA and Miami have a higher concentration of guys w/pre-owned F's who tend to keep cruising around certain blocks of the Westside/SoBe in a "look-at-me" way. In contrast, in SF/Greenwich, lots of new F's are bought and used by more low-key, jaded guys who have/have had a few interesting cars.....just check out the garages at a few tech cos in Silicon Valley or at a few hedge fund office bldgs in Greenwich and it'll all make sense.....also, ask credible F dealers/FNA guys where they sell/place new cars....and esp where they easily sell new, depreciation-prone 575s and 612s....and recall that some of the early 430s sent up to SF (to sell at market price) were from LA F-dealers; clearly, they know where the real concentration of impatient guys w/fat checkbooks is.....after all, why ship up to SF (and share the market premium w/an SF broker/intermediary) if the LA Westside/Newport Coast buyer market is just as deep?
Well, I live about a mile away, if that, from Saddle River, NJ. I'm also about 15 minutes outside of NYC. After seeing the attendance at the Tech Day at Wide World of Cars, I would think this would be one of the more highly concentrated areas in the country. On a nice day, you'll see a couple F cars. While I was out in California, I saw my fair share of Ferrari's especially with a dealership around the corner from Rodeo Drive. But, I also saw a lot more Diablo's and Bentleys than I had in this area until recently. The Gallardo is becoming a fairly common car as well as the Bentley Continental GT. But I'm digressing from the original topic.
I somewhat agree, but I'm guessing that its CA, FL, NY, & TX. I heard someone say that there are more Ferrari cars in FL for sale than ppl who own them. It sounds weird, but I'm NOT able to prove anything, so I don't know.
To much pycho-babble going on here. You've even got the "driver's/owner's" character/intent figured out.....please.
I voted West though I don't live there because of California...Wouldnt make sense to say 1.Ca 2.Fl 3.Ny/NJ Aren't these the 3 most populated states..at least top 5...
Also, the way the poll is setup...it is broken up into South and Southeast???? But there is only a West, wouldn't it be fair to put a Southwest...Where does Texas fall...thats a huge state....West or Southwest...Does FL fall in the South or Southeast? Ga (Atlanta) ?
