What PS fluid if you don't know whats in it?

    I've had this 2007 F430 now for a little over two years. I've done the annual myself on it twice now. The power steering is the only fluid I haven't changed out. I have the service records on it since it was new but I don't see where the fluid has ever been changed or topped off. The color appears to be a burned orange or red. I really don't want to have to disconnect the hoses and do a complete flush if I can just get by with doing what most have done, and that's just sucking out the old fluid and topping it off every year. Without knowing what's in it, what can I use that will be compatible? Dexron 6?

    I would use mobil 1 sync atf fluid ..if I remember my research it was the closest in spec to original f1 and power steering fluid

    Mike- It is undoubtedly Dexron III or Dexron VI in there now, and they are compatible in general. After that many years though, I would definitely consider a complete drain and flush. Get someone to do it if you do not want to tackle it.
