I really never liked this woman. She always had that *****y smirk on her face. She always treated guests like sh*t. Whether she was right or not, I think she should get her walking papers.

Grace Under Attack Online Over Interview Of Fla. Mom
Thousands On Web Site Say Commentator Should Be Fired

    POSTED: 5:39 pm EDT September 15, 2006
    UPDATED: 6:05 pm EDT September 15, 2006

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Thousands of people are demanding that CNN commentator Nancy Grace be fired over an interview with the mother of a missing Florida boy who committed suicide after the questioning, according to a Local 6 News report.

A Web site, firenancygrace.com, includes thousands of posted comments over Grace's Sept. 7 phone interview of Melinda Duckett.

"Thousands of people have posted comments, calling the way she interviewed Melinda Duckett just before her suicide despicable," Local 6's Lauren Rowe said.

A survey on the Web site asking whether Nancy Grace should be fired shows 82 percent of more than 32,000 voters say yes, she should be fired.

During the interview, Grace aggressively asked Duckett where she was when her son vanished.

"Where were you?" Grace asked Duckett. "Why aren't you telling us where you were that day? You were the last person to be seen with him."

"We were just shopping, going around…," Duckett said.

    "Shopping where?" Grace asked.

"Well, we didn't go any where specific," Duckett said.

"If you went shopping, you had to go into a store -- what store did you go into?" Grace said.

"I wasn't (going to get) into any specifics," Duckett said.

Melinda Duckett had earlier told Local 6 News that the day before Trenton vanished, she and the child were driving around visiting friends and family.

Detectives are still searching for witnesses who can either back up her account or contradict it.

The search continues for the missing boy.

Nancy Grace Ripped After Missing Boy's Mom Kills Herself

Sept. 15, 2006 — Former prosecutor turned talk show host Nancy Grace is unapologetic about her aggressive approach to a mother who committed suicide after an interview about the woman's missing son.

Twenty-one year-old Melinda Duckett was the mother of 2-year-old Trenton Duckett, who has been missing since Aug. 27.

Grace interviewed Duckett over the phone on Sept. 7 as part of a taped segment for Grace's show. Before the interview was over, the talk show host was pounding her desk and demanding, "Where were you? Why aren't you telling us where you were that day?"

One day later, Duckett shot and killed herself just hours before the taped interview aired on CNN Headline News.

In an exclusive interview with "Good Morning America" today, Grace said that she takes no responsibility for Duckett's suicide.

"If anything, I would suggest that guilt made her commit suicide," Grace told ABC News' Chris Cuomo.

"To suggest that a 15 or 20 minute interview can cause someone to commit suicide is focusing on the wrong thing," she said.

    Interview or Inquisition?

Melinda Duckett reported her son missing from their Leesburg, Fla., home on Aug. 27. She said he disappeared from his crib while she watched a movie on television with friends.

Investigators have stopped short of calling Duckett a suspect but have focused increasing attention on her movements just before the boy vanished. Police have seized notes, a computer, camera and other items from her home.

Duckett's family members disputed any suggestion that she hurt her son. They said that the strain of her son's disappearance pushed her to the brink, and the media sent her over the edge.

"Nancy Grace and the others, they just bashed her to the end," Duckett's grandfather Bill Eubank told the Associate Press Tuesday.

Some media analysts agree, saying Grace's interview went too far.

"How is that questioning doing anything but making a person in a desperate situation feeling even more desperate?" said Hub Brown, a professor at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications.

Grace, however, insists her line of questioning was reasonable.

She's one of the worst personalities on television. Right-wing, arrogant, badgering, mean-spirited b*tch. I find her despicable. She gives lawyers AND media personalities a bad name. This was a new low.

She really needs to go. She has some real pent up anger inside her that sometimes comes out during her interviews. She has a very difficult time letting other people talk, especialy men. She will also put on the extremly phoney "caring" voice when interviewing somebody that has gone through a hard time, but you know she doen't give a rats ass.

I remeber she was interviewing a teen that was raped, and she kept asking for details of the rape. The girl said she did not want to talk about what happend to her, but wanted to talk about the danger many young females face in abusive relationships, and how fast somthing can happen. This stupid Nancy Grace could have cared less about her cause and what this victim was trying to say. All she wanted was get her to talk about, in great painful detail what happend during the rape..It was almost like Nancy was getting off on it. I think she is a very sick and twisted women with alot of serious issues.

Innocent people don't kill themselves because of a grilling by a TV journalist......but women regularily kill their kids during custody/divorce battles......men, if ever, do not.

She could have answered the questions with verifiable answers..........but alas...........Nancy Grace smelled the blood in the water and went in for the kill. Pun intended. Now if this had happened in a courtroom we'd have not heard anything about it. She probably saved the taxpayers millions on a trail............good on her !!! But, because she is a succesful prosecutor and has a national TV show, she is getting criticised, and more than likely if we looked into who was behind that website you'd find it was a bunch of angry divorced single moms who got what they deserved.

Except for her voice, I like her.........if we had more people around like her, there would be less of those she prosecutes around to cause us all trouble. It's time to take out the trash in our society.....and she makes a great garbage collector.

    whart......ROTFLMAO.....!!!!!

Her line of questioning was very reasonable. If the missing child's mother didn't want to answer tough questions, she shouldn't have agreed to do the interview...especially with a former prosecutor turned news reporter! And, the fact the women committed suicide indicates to me that she may have had something to do with the child missing...guilt will cause people to do drastic things...

I don't really have a problem with Namcy. I think the mother obviously had something to hide. How the hell can you not answer a simple question of where you were on a day where something like that happens?? If I were out shopping I could easily tell you what stores I went into. The woman is obviously guilty of something and Nancy Grace wasn't afraid to get in her face about it. She's knew she was guilty, and NG brought it out and made it obvious. The woman killing herself only showed her mental instability. There should be ONLY one story of what she did all day, and it looks to me like the story has changed a few times so she was most likely hiding something. I know what I did yesterday, and the day before...... if I became the object of a police investigation I would tell what I had been doing and the story wouldn't change. Nance Grace HATES criminals and it really shows. If any of you recall, when she was younger her college sweetheart was murdered which I'm sure has alot to do with her anger. She may be kind of a ***** sometimes, but I think it's necessary.........sorry for the long rambling post LOL

She probably appeals to a female audience. If she's still on the air then there are people that like her. If she gets canned then you'll know that that has changed.

Sometimes she is a B**ch, but as will stated, sometimes she does great things. She's just a little too harsh on national television, thats all. She's the female version of Bill O'Reily.

Have we really come to the point where an interviewer can be blamed for a suicide?

Suicides don't happen overnight, or even in a few hours.. this is the result of years (maybe starting when her son was born) and she couldn't answer some very basic questions. Seems like a guilt admission to me more than anything.

I heard about this a few days ago. Yesterday, I came across the NG show and she was still whaling on the woman even after she was dead.

I seriously doubt she will apologize for anything she said.
