I am sure I was... a friend of mine bought one at the same time, he has 3 times the km on his for the same age... and it has now started to have the very same stresses. Except his is now out of warranty and VW are not being helpful... The challenge with a DSG is that the clutch is a 'consumable' item, and having seen the invoices, the replacement is not for the faint hearted. We have a Polo pool car for the PA to do her shopping... it has that 'false neutral' thing my R32 had... you try to take off at the lights, put the accelerator foot down, and nothing. Lift off the throttle, boot it to within an inch of its life as everyone behind blows their horns in anger... and it takes off... It too has loved visiting (a different) dealer a lot. Even the one on long term test in Wheels has that stupid problem.... And we sont even talk about the shunting at low speed when the clutch wears a bit....
I always thought the clutches in those things are designed to last the lifetime of the car. Looks like I was wrong....again!
Knowing me it'll be out of left field. There is an 86(yes,that old)535 M5 5 speed on ebay that is up to $8K out of reserve. He had it for sale for $9K privately. It's the right colour and they are an awsome old hotrod. This car reads very well. I had an auto standard car for a brief time and thought it pretty good.

Who cares? Put 2000hp in any car and it’ll be ridiculously fast. Bit like a “really fast” Tesla: Yawn. At least if it was in a Ferrari it would look good and be desirable.
How have the R35s held up? First gen are now ~10 years old. Have they all turned into grenades or turned out to be reliable?
Have you ever seen inside a GTR engine? They're truly built to race engine standards, beautiful engineering everywhere and no corners cut. I've see grenaded straight 6's, but they were all boosted to ridiculous levels.
