They have 2 Black Scuds, the '09 in question is a new addition to their inventory. The car they have since last Winter is an '08 with no miles and is priced at $229k.
Correction, the '09 Scud has just been sold, looks like sub $200k is the real market for these cars now
If your actually interested in a scud, what would you drive while your waiting for it to hit $150 and if you don't mind waiting, why not wait till it hits 100? Eric
The market for scuds is now 185 at 195. I'm surprised to see it so low- but it is what is is. If you are a buyer- there is no reason to pay up. Most likely you will get the car for your price.
Hey everybody, dealers can now get you 20-year nothing-down financing with "about the same payment as you're already paying" on an excellent Scud if you trade in your slightly dented slightly underwater Honda. moohahahahaha!
Guess its where you are...just talked with dealer--Scud moved at 205k within past 10 days. Dealaer said got another call from West Coast buyer within last week--said he was willing to pay 190k, b-cause "that's the market". Dealer told him buy one on West Coast then because it "ain't the price in this market based on sales lately"...
Not much of a spread between 190 and 205k, IMO. Doubt I would be successful with the one I'm after at 205.
Dealers are not owners and they need to protect their spread. It is in the dealer's best interest to inflate your perception of prices. Especially if you're a buyer.
After reading this thread, I'm now considering converting mine into a full time HPDE car. The values have gotten crushed so bad might as well enjoy it on the track and make it safer too! The additional "value" kill of doing this is almost moot at sub 200k pricing!
There are always people who will pay up for a car they want now. Scott, I own a GT3RS too. A very fun car.
This car. Very Subtle. My F430 is fun too but not near as raw as this. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Scud and GT3RS - great combination of track cars. Set your target price and go for it then you would know the difference of driving/tracking a Fcar & Pcar !!! ( I am dring a 996GT3 and a F430 Spider )
Scott, Here's an '08 with a BIN $186.8 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-FERRARi-F430-SCUDERIA-F1-STRiPES-SERViCED-PERFECT-/150528698781?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item230c35a99d Here's an '09 with 185 miles and current bid is $150K. This is my neck of the woods and I can check it out for you. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Best-430-Scuderia-country-/170575235121?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item27b7138831
The first seems an ugly duck, apparently with gold wheels...and its an 08, not 09. The second is an 09 with decent color combo--but no BIN and $150k is only the last bid; like most on ebay, it may not sell at all but certainly not at anywhere near that price....I believe you'll find the actual sale cost to start with a 2...
This '09 has been listed for sale locally since the summer for $244K. Ebay is another form of marketing, but the difference to Cars.com and autotrader (and the like), you can gauge the relative interest in the car by it's bid history. For our purposes of discussion, we can gauge if there's a lot of interest in a car with popular options (in this case red/black with stripes). IMHO, if this car didn't sell while it was offered during peak driving season in 2010, and it doesn't have a lot of interest on Ebay, I don't expect it to fare any better in 2011. The seller was wise to start the bidding at $150K as this generates more interest than someone starting a bid at over $200K which isn't where this market is at.
