    Gentelman,
I need a little help with my 97 355 which currently has bone stock suspension, wheels and tires(for now). I'm in the hunt for challenge wheels but until that happens I want to make the stance little more aggressive. Im thinking wider tires maybe 295's and 15mm spacers.
In my previous 355 I had speed line wheels with 285's and I think 15mm spacer but can't remember. Anyone with experience or suggestions??

    Thanks

295 in the sport pilots is a great tire for the rear, it prevented the break in traction I got on the 1-2 shift (F1). Can't comment on spacers, but I have 360 wheels with 20mm turned off the back and with 295s they come right to the maximum room available in width.

295/35/18 will give you the correct rolling diameter .....extra cornering traction and fill out the wheel well a little more.
Maybe try installing the tires first before going to the spacers (save your rear bearings as well)......then decide.

Good advice. Add the spacers after if you still think it needs it.

I put the 295's on my car. I am happy with the look and the rear end seems more planted. I do not have spacers on it. The tires fill out the wheel wells nicely and do not stick out. There is some pictures of them in another thread on the same topic. I would be glad to repost them if you would like.

I have 295s on stock wheels, no spacers, and I think looks much better.

Correct. Recommended rim width for a 295 is 10-11.5 inches.

295/35/18 for the rear is a good choice.

Go 25 mm in the front. I have brand new spacers that dont require new bolts if youre interested.

For the rear on stock wheels, you can probably get away with a 15mm spacer. For challenge wheels, you'll have to start rolling fenders. I have an 11mm spacer in the rear with 265s. With 295s it should sit pretty nice.

With challenge wheels, i have 15 mm spacer in the front. Still a bit too sunken in.

I just saw a 458 Speciale yesterday and Ferrari seems to have employed more aggressive wheel fitments. Wheels are still tucked in but not as much as the standard 458 wheels. I would say it is close to being perfect visually give 5-10mm to me. They are starting to do what Porsche has done for years... Give cars an aggressive and confident stance.

You can go 15 mm rear with 295 on Challenge wheels without rolling the fender. I ran a 255/35/18 front on 9.5 HREs on the front and then I had to roll the front fenders.

What size tires do you guys use on the front with 295s on the rear? Ride height would have to be adjusted to maintain proper rake, yes?

I've been pondering throwing spacers on mine as well. The slight change in look makes a big difference.

Does adding spacers and/or running 295s change the suspension geometry or alignment specs in any material way?

The overall diameter for the 295 is 26.1". That is .2" shorter than the 265. Rake is approximately the same. I kept the 225's on the front. Others have gone to a 235.

I have a pair of 11mm hill engineering spacers if anyone is interested. Just tried on but never driven on.

    Ken,
I sent you a pm. I'll take the 25mm if you are telling me they don't rub. If you think they rub I'll probably take the 11mm spacers.
    I'll send you another pm.
