Upgrading the ignition on a 1962 250GTE to include the MM AEC103A electronic ignition. My question is; may I use the 1K resistors on the end of the spark plug wires where they connect to the spark plug with this electronic ignition? My desire is to retain original appearance if possible. Is there a brown wire end which does not have the integrated resistor available?

In addition. Do I need to use solid core wires or suppression type (carbon core) spark plug wires?

For a AEC103A setup spiral wound or carbon core wire works best, i would avoid solid core wires with a capacitive ignition setup if possible. With spiral wound or carbon core wire you don't necessarily need resistor plugs but there is no problem using them either.

Since the AEC103A is out of production for a long time now, may i recommend a different approach. A Bosch high power ignition/Lumenition pickup setup can be easily installed in a way where it is nearly invisible (you just need to hide the small ignition amplifier somewhere out of sight), and it is very robust and the parts are standard parts which can be ordered as spares. It can also easily be removed to get back to the original points and coil setup if required.

Here is a wiring diagram of the setup, you would need two of these (one for each bank):

Here is a similar Bosch setup for a 308, this approach puts both optical pickups in just one distributor to avoid issues in syncing both advance curves due to different wear of the distributors:
