Try Da Mimmos in Little Italy.
Yeah we have been there a number of times. I am trying to think of something with a similar ambiance that we haven't tried.
Gotta agree with Tio Pepe' +1 JB had an excellent recommendation for DaMimmo's...several other good spots in Little Italy would be.. Amicci's... more of a casual place and somewhat less expensive that DaMimmo's. La Scala...Nino's mother makes the cannoli when she's here. I saw her the other day. It's a good time to go. Chiapparelli's... great salads, try the veal Leo. I don't think any of the places in Little Italy are a bad choice.... each one has it's own specialty. Outside of Little Italy, if you want Italian, you can try "Sammy's Trattoria" on the corner of Biddle and Charles St. Excellent "Duck Raviolli", "Broccoli de Robbie" and one of my favorite wines..."Bertani Amarone 2000". Good luck and have a good time where ever you end up.
I just checked their menu, sounds very good. What are prices like? One place she has previously mentioned wanting to go is Woodberry Kitchen. Anyone ever been? http://www.woodberrykitchen.com/index.html
We live about 10 min north of the city in Mt. Washington so we have been to quite a few places across the city. We like to try new places and new interesting dishes, so I think we will stray away from more traditional dishes. She also isn't much of a meat eater. Thanks to all for the suggestions, I have a few places in mind, but I just wanted to see if people had suggestions for places that I hadn't thought of.
Surprised to see nobody named Charleston. Been rated #1 in Zagat for a number of years and it doesn't dissapoint. Food and service is outstanding and on par with some of the finest restaurants in the country.
