Well we all know what happened tonight, this has been a troubling football season for me. First my school's, SJP, dynasty was ended, now the Eagles lose by 3. Come on this is just not right. The phillies are not gonna win, Sixers are in 1st with a losing record, smarty jones isnt racing ne more, and the Flyers arent even playing. Just complete utter sadness has taken over my body. This is gonna be a long week. :(

You're a Philly guy now. Time to start rooting for the losers, just like we all do.

I have season tix to the Flyers (that's doing me a lot of good!) and the Phillies; first row in front of the scoreboard (Which is good, that way I can't actually see the score.)

I don't buy football tickets anymore, and basketball is way too expensive just to sit there and wait for the last two minutes of the game, when it starts to get interesting. Just so they can lose in the playoffs.

Having said all that, I'd NEVER root for the Steelers, the Pirates, or any NY or NJ team, EVER.

We have a special sickness in our loyalty to our teams, and it's time for you to get on board.

Patrick. Listen.. I was five years old the last time the Eagles won a championship, and 25 the last time they went to the Super Bowl. I was 20 the last time the Flyers won, and 28 the last time the Sixers won. I was what? 25 the ONLY TIME THE PHILLIES EVER WON ANYTHING. What are you, 17? You're a noobie when it comes to watching these guys lose big games. Hang in there, you'll get used to it. Maybe we'll live long enough to see another championship.

I was lucky enough to meet a couple of the Eagles who played on that team, some years later. They were a rough and tumble bunch of guys, and no one thought they'd win that game.

So Patrick, settle in, prepare for the long haul. Maybe we'll get lucky and the Eagles will get there again next year. However, history is against us.

Long week? It's going to be a long winter/summer. Our sorry ass coach for the sixers still doesn't know who the starting line up is and it's midway through the season? The only sport we have here is Football. All hope is lost for the others. The Phillies are just pathetic and will be for a long time. I hate arogant GM's and owners that could care less about the fans, and just want to make a buck. Screw Em!

Pat, you were lucky for St. Joe's prep to have a dynasty in football. They're usually as good as Lower Merion.

Dave, I'm from New York and grew up in NJ. I'll never forget that, even when I move to California. I'm here in PA. hopefully only for another 2 years, ;). I won't give up on my Devils like you won't give up on your Philly teams. They're the only team we really have, let alone one that wins.

Ok here comes my dave montgomery and most other owners rant:

Dave Montgomery- some of you may know that my father is employed by the minnesota twins as their east coast scout and was in the GM possition of the Mets (including 86) and Padres for several years. I know a thing or two about owners, especially this new breed. This new breed which includes montgomery, the wilpon duo (mets), and steinbruner are overbearing brain washers who care more about profits then winning. The reason these owners are hiring younger GMs is b/c they are very impressionable and become a "yes man" This allows for totalatarian control over the team by the owner. The purpose of the owner to hire a GM and all the others is for him to make decisions that will be in the best efforts to win a championship. The owners now just want superstar players so they can draw more crowds and make more money regardless of winning a championship. It truly sickens me to realize that no sanctions will be forced upon these owners b/c the damn Commisoner is an Owner himself. All the blame cant be forced on the owner though, the GM has to step up and say No, even though thats basically what got my dad Fired, he felt it was better that way b/c he worked hard for that position and he should be able to do what his job description allows him to do.
