    i'm trying to burn a bunch of songs to a CD... i used to do this with my eyes closed, now i can't do following the second grader instructions... Is Windows Media Player not good for taking music from my hard drive and burning it onto a CD in the CD drive...? It's a brand new, never before used CD-RW... i'm having all sorts of problems, this is nonsense... i should just be able to put a burn list together, click "Start Burn" and leave it alone and go do other stuff... On top of that, while it's burning - which ****ing takes forever - i try to download pictures and my entire machine freezes... WTF...?!?

    ok.. take a deep breath.

    Have you tried restarting the PC? Restarts, more times than not, put things back on track(no pun).

    LOL...! Thank you, i needed a laugh... i had no choice to restart; i had to shut my computer down the hard way - twice - when it froze... i've got things going again in WMP, but it shouldn't take this long... This is a great, fast computer... i had a crap computer when i was in NY and i would pull up some burn program (i don't remember what it was) and i would burn all sorts of stuff... i just don't remember it being this difficult...

    Nero? That's what I use and it's pretty good and user friendly.

    I don't use the media player, it's not as quick as the software that should have come with your PC. Roxio or something is what I use.

    Also, is your PC making a lot of noise or none at all when you try to burn? It may not recognize your drive. That happened to me a couple of years ago with a "fathers day special" at Future Shop. < If it's the case {call the tech line to run through the options} you may have to bring it in for service.

    One other thing, are these songs from an online source? I've heard of people having trouble putting some of those songs onto cd's.

    I'm not a whiz at this kind of thing so I may not be hitting the mark.

    Carbon brother... You probably have a bad CD - Pull another one and rip it. I buy them in packs of 100 - and about 10% are bad...

    Also if you have XP - just stick in the new CD - a folder pops up saying writeable CD - just drag your files to the folder... Don't mess around with Windows Media player, etc. - just do a drag and drop - and then you will see a little link at the left side of the window that says burn files to CD.

    Exactly, I don't use WMP but I think they have a bunch of copyright protection built into it that makes it difficult to use.

    J River lets you burn easily AND DOWN LOAD off an iPod. I think iPods are made not to download but this does it.

    Ephpod to interface with all my iPods (yes I have more than one.. )

    Roxio Easy CD Creator...! That's it...! (i think)... i'm running Nero now; it's up to 15 percent...

    At first it was, then i locked up... Restarted, tried it again and it WASN'T making any noise...

    Yeah, they've all been downloaded from the web...

    That's exactly what i did... No dice with the second disc, either; but that's the one i'm using with Nero right now... Seems to be working; it's at 24 percent...

    That's what i thought i could do...! i guess i took a wrong turn somewhere...

    Just finished, 100% successful... Took all of what, 20 minutes...? i popped it into our 3-disc changer here in the office and the stereo wouldn't even recognize that there was a disc in there... So i popped it into another computer and it played in there... Gonna go out to my car right now to see if it'll play in there, 'cause that's the only place i really need it to play...

    Awesome...! It works in my car...! That's the only place i need it to work...!

    Now i'm gonna download all of Corporate Avenger's songs so i can make a Corporate Avenger CD to play on Sundays... :)

    Cabon, buy high quality discs and they should play in anything or Radio Shack sell discs that they guarantee will play in any CD player.
