I'm driving up to Atlanta (not in the Dino) on Monday to meet up with a friend from Dallas who's attending a seminar there. We'll be staying at the Marriott downtown on Monday and Tuesday nights. On Tuesday during the day, she'll be busy, so I need something to do to occupy my time from about 9:00 to 3:00 or so. Any suggestions?

Try the fish zoo (Georgia Aquarium) if you like that sort of thing, it's a pretty good one.

If you want to stay close to downtown, the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola are both worthwhile and within walking distance. The CNN Studio tour is also close, as is the Sundial observation platform on the top of the 76-story Peachtree Plaza hotel.

A little farther away, if you're a Civil War buff, is the Atlanta Cyclorama in Grant Park. And in the same vicinity, Turner Field offers tours of the ballpark.

If you have a car at your disposal and want to head north, the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History in Kennesaw (home of the famous locomotive, the General) is worth a look. And if you want to see cars besides the ones at the Atlanta Auto Show, there's always Ferrari/Maserati/Aston Martin of Atlanta in Roswell and Motorcars of Georgia (Lamborghini/Lotus/Spyker) in Sandy Springs.
