I'm visiting a swedish friend living in Detroit during that period.

Are there any Ferrari events or other intresting motor events, museums etc to visit?

I would be very grateful if you could suggest events, races, shops etc worth seeing for a Ferraristi from sweden.

Visit the Ford, Chrysler and GM museums, go across the bridge into Canada (Windsor) for a great casino and wild night life, go to a U of M game (stadium holds about 106,000 people), watch out in the bad areas of Detroit on Halloween (lots of crazy people out wanting to start fires). Not sure of any car events going on then.

The area has many automotive-oriented places to visit. As Jerry mentioned, Ford and Chrysler have museums. (I'm not aware of a GM museum). There are also tours of the auto baron's homes, and the Automotive Hall of Fame.

Several attractions are in close proximity to each other in Dearborn. These include:

Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village

Fairlane, the former home of Henry Ford I

And the Automotive Hall of Fame:

If you like seeing the auto baron's homes, you might also check out the home of Edsel Ford in Grosse Pointe (http://fordhouse.org) and Meadowbrook Hall, the home of one of the Dodge widows in Rochester, Michigan.

Actually I'm not even sure there IS a GM museum, I knew Ford and Chrysler had them so i assumed GM as well. Meadowbrook was where the Concours d' Elegance was last month, and in '03 it was at the Edsel Ford estate. Both are beautiful places.

G.M. does not have a museum yet for the public. One was just opened recently, but unfortunately not for the general public just yet. Both the Chrysler and Ford museums are excellent.Tours of the newly revised Ford Rougre plant are also worthwhile.

Pay a visit to Cauley Ferrari, ask for Jeff Cauley, mention my name and tell him you would like to tour the facility. If he isn't available, ask for Joe Abernathy. They are great folks. I am certain they have some nice toys in their shop.
