Dumb question... I just swapped my oem manifolds with headers and am curious what you guys do with the old ones? It seems like a shame to just throw them away even though they're essentially crap, but I also don't want to bin the old boat anchors.

Have to show off the new ones of course:)

They could be a good door stop or wall art lol

Glad to see you were able to get the new ones in.

Some people have had a shop remove the cats and weld them back up.

Crazy that the hardest part was separating the primary cats from the manifolds.

Mine are in the attic in case the eventual new owner (many years from now) needs them. I did smoke check them to make sure they weren’t cracked before I wrapped them up.

Keep them for the next owner. if the car is sold to someone in California they will be needed for the visual inspection. Even if you are the forever owner of the car, you never know in the future if you need to have them modified to remove the pre-cats and reinforced and welded back together to look stock to pass a visual emissions inspection.

Sell them to a catalyst buyer. You might get a couple hundred bucks for the pair depending in current prices. I do this all the time. Free money really. It's not a lot..but it will pay for a nice dinner.
