Hi, i currently have a Maserati Spyder F1. As i really love the 550, i'm wondering whether to get one or not. What are the things to watch out when exploring candidates ? How reliable are they ? How long does a clutch last ? Let me know, Pierre.
search the archives gougoul - there's a TON of data in there. it's a great car. i do miss mine doody.
OK, we can compromise on that one. I found the first drive to be very exciting. 12cyl cars are so seamless and seem never lacking for go. Enjoy.
I'm all for the tubi and the modulars but I would think twice about lowering it if you are going to be using it as a daily driver. While lowering the car looks great, the front of the car at stock height just barely clears the standard cement barriers and curbs at the front of head-in parking spots, not to mention driveway angles. While I try to be as careful as the next guy, I can't tell you the number of times I have been thankful for that extra half inch of ride height.
Codered excellent choice, picked mine up this week, nearly the same, TdF but Blu Scuro with tan carpets and piping. oh and Tubi too! gougoul Dealer told me that Anti rollbar bushes are common wear items
MC, That's a beauty allright! Also maybe you are right to leave the ride heigth alone. It's nice to to scrape every where you go. I have the Gt3 for the track anyway.
One reason not to lower the ride height.....this is the second time for me and it was a never ending problem with my TR as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gougoul, Since you're in Geneva, you should talk with Herr Altman at http://www.autosalon-singen.de .... he's very knowledgeable with the whole Ferrari line and offered me a lot of information about all the pros and cons with each model when I last visited his showroom. He's their main Ferrari salesman and this dealership currently has about 250 new and used Ferrari's for sale and probably a couple dozen 550's. He also offered to let me test drive a 550 on my last visit. This dealership is only 5 km from one of the least traveled autobahns so you'll get the whole experience. They're located fairly close to Geneva, right on the border with Switzerland in Singen, Germany. Check out their web site and drop him a line........ Tell him Scot Anderson from Los Angeles told you to contact him. I own a 2000, 550 .... and love everything about this car. If I were ever make a change, it'd only be to upgrade to a newer 575.
Last time about $400 and I will get the guy that does my body work to look at this injury in the next couple of weeks - but looking at yours I bet it is a lot more since it involves more that just the spoiler... and to think I thought mine was bad! Just another one of the joys of Ferrari ownership I guess.....
I had to make an abrupt right turn last minute into the dirt siding ..... came upon three concrete barriers across the roadway late at night with no signage whatsoever, and little time to stop. Ended up with a new bumper ..... $ 3,400 unpainted, plus, plus.
