I'm currently in the market actively looking for a LaFerrari. Most of them are less than 100 miles or 1k at the max. What should I be looking out for?

I read ppl mentioned $80k for the small battery and $200k for the main batter if they go bad? Obviously they are all out of warranty, what should I be expecting the cost of ownership like?

Service department told me that the main/big battery got 8 year unlimited miles coverage as well. Is that true?

    Appreciate any insider helps.

    The long way home

Exciting! You'll want a Ferrari dealer to inspect the car and pull a Parameter/Errors report, which is basically a computer log of everything about the car. Within this report, there will be a section that shows the voltage of the individual cells of the High Voltage Battery (HVB). I'll have to confirm the exact numbers, but there is a range for those readings that indicate the relative health of the cells and battery overall.

The prices you're quoting for both batteries are very high from what I've seen, particularly the 'small battery' which is nowhere near $80k.

Lately I've been hearing about more and more issues with the charger, so you might want to consider having its functionality checked as part of the inspection as well.

    " Small Battery " $18,500 +/-
    " Big Battery " $250,000 +/-
Rebuild Big Battery $80,000 +/- +++ Month + to do it.

50% of the la Ferrari I know of locally have had the small battery replaced once, then never again. Using the battery maintainer is a must and you have to use it the correct way. Like another member posted above, the car logs the maintainer usage and most if not all the specs associated with it and the charging system.

We maintain many La Ferrari, all have been solid cars, a few of them even driven! One had an engine drive belt come off another had a simple coolant leak to address. The largest repair was a power inverter replacement... $65,000!

Annual Fluid and filter service should run $3,500.00

Smile per mile is priceless though!

I heard around $280,000 for the larger battery. Very hard to get. About a year down time.

This makes a lot of sense. Assuming here that the engine belt setup similar to F12 setup. The power inverter also make sense. Most folks worry about the HV battery which they should but power electronics typically don't age well and they are very unique parts. When car propulsion systems become more solid state one has to realize they will never last as long as a vintage car. Heat and time powered push the bell curve of these components to eventual failure and they will not be interchangeable over time.

I bought an LaF last December. I had a dealer do a full diagnostic and send it to me, while sent it to my dealer to review. The smaller battery had been replaced. You cannot buy a new large replacement battery. They have to go back to Italy to be refurbished. There may be one or two extra used ones floating around the US that dealers can utilize. It takes six months to get one refurbished. My charger was also replaced or rebuilt in the past as they had an issue with many of them.

La Ferrari Maintainers have had at least one software update, that I am aware of. ( Ferrari covered the cost )

It is possible to have one rebuilt, I am not sure what for, but I am willing to learn.
