On my 246GT I used fuel hose to replace the approx 6" rubber lines from the brake reservoirs to the master cylinder. Now several years later they are obviously being weakened from within by the brake fluid.

Does anyone have a source of brake fluid-resistant 1/4" ID rubber hose?

    Thanks

You sure it lasted you 6 years? I would of have thought the brake fluid would of have softened and rotted that hose within 6 months

I would ring around and find a automotive brake repair shop or supplier and buy the correct hose for the job this time, brake circuits are the last thing people should be bodgying up with the wrong parts ;)

Check with the Volkswagen people. At one time Volkswagen used remote brake fluid resevoirs and there was a special hose just for that application.

Another source for the hose is Porsche....they have a remote brake resovior in the 911's. It's like a silicone hose and cloth covered but blueish purple. Worked great in my car about two years.

While the VW/BMW blue hose will work, it doesn't look right in a Ferrari.

You can get the correct black brake fluid hose from McMaster Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/, just make sure that it is EPDM hose. Do not use fuel hose as this will sweat brake fluid over time.
