The front plate serves one purpose. Create another reason to issue a fine, its plain and simple. Just because something is the "law", doesn't mean it has to be followed without any logical thought. Drilling holes in my bumper and putting a metal plate in-front of it dramatically increases public safety.

You know, I am very amazed how many people on here admit to getting pulled over, receiving tickets yet announcing how nice the officer was? Talk about being a whipped dog with the tail between their legs. Its bad enough these days going for a spirited drive enjoying life and a nice car having to be harassed by the local sociopath in a uniform, but making apologies for it? What a nice guy, he gave me a $350 fine instead of $400 but he complimented me on my car.....

got pulled over for speeding when a friend in her mustang and i were pacing each other down the road. when the officer presented me with the $300 ticket he smiled saying "it was between you and the mustang but i've never pulled a ferrari over before." he let me sweat the ticket for a month when i recieved a letter from the court saying the officer pulled the ticket. so it was no contest.

It really comes down to me being no different than anyone else though. If I stop someone for it, it's only right my car has one as well. Now if I had Napolis' car, I would have to tell him to stick it...........but I guess I would be able to afford to as well! ;)

So do you have a problem with people on this thread being courteous to law enforcement and the courtesy being returned? If that is what you refer to as "being a whipped dog", tell me how you like to behave when you get pulled over.

There is atleast one in every crowd, tag your it!!

He needs a 'cavity search' and a revoked license as some people are just not able to comprehend the responsibilty of having a drivers license, driving is a priviledge NOT a right.

Yes I do. I don't like being "pulled over" and harassed for no real reason. Sorry for not liking some stranger peeking and interrogating me. As to your other question, I say nothing. Hand them the documents required and stay mute the entire time. I'm not going to have a casual chit chat with someone out to milk me for some $$. Do you invite in a burglar and treat them to milk and cookies too? If law enforcement wants to be courteous they can stick to investigating real crimes and real criminals, not people enjoying life.

Yep, nice cop or mean cop makes no difference to me. I'm just glad to see them out on the street or the highway patrolling. Like many other Los Angeles natives, I had to be in the city during the April 1992 riots. Driving through L.A. past tire stores on fire, people walking in and out of stores that were being looted, makes you appreciate law enforcement very quickly.

So let me get this straight, you are making a comparison between getting a ticket from your Canadian cops to feeding a burglar milk and cookies? And being mute is somehow superior to being nice?

Strange because I don't remember any looters getting arrested. In fact the cops were nowhere to be found and citizens had to defend their own properties/selves. Maybe your next example will be hurricane katrina, where police officers were caught on tape looting stores and killing people outright? But you are right, we should be thankful they are there handing out traffic tickets to dangerous supercar owners, and running plates all day long. What a world it would be if they would be doing something productive..... total anarchy.

I already explained it to you. Why on earth should I be nice to someone that is harassing me? No I don't want to hear the sociopath tell me how hes cutting me a break, or looking for me to agree/credit his behavior. Its better to just be silent. His job is to finance his pension and I am the meal ticket. No different then robbery at gun point, but hes wearing a fancy uniform and a flashy badge right?. You are correct, next time I will be very grateful for being pulled over and ticketed and thank them for it. After all its the "law" and they are just "doing their jobs".

So why don't you un-mute yourself during your traffic stop and tell them that? Why play the tough guy here in a forum of whipped dogs? Your problem is with LEOs, not us.

The whipped dog comment was merely a reference to how pathetically weak/submissive our society has become. I have told them my viewpoints on numerous occasions, in the end its a waste of breath. I rather stay silent then put up with the huffing and puffing of Jonny Law. Now I understand a percentage of the population have severe psychological aberrations and these types of jobs are magnets for them. But I do not understand it when the people being harassed blatantly agree with it(make up public safety excuses over plates????) and even make the cop out to be cool. What a joke.

By that statement it seem's for you that getting pulled over by the police is a regular occurence?

Yet your gun's are a blazing on a forum of which 99.99% of the members appreciate and respect police officers.

Wow aren't we 'walking on water' with that assessment yet it seem's you are the one with issue's. I would like to know what your job/career is for shats and giggles so I and everyone else can judge your 'psychological aberrations'.

I aswell as others would like to know how enforceing the law can be viewed as harassment, are you personaly above the law??

Okay, I hear your point. Let me explain why I am giving you such a hard time. I live in an area that borders a national forest with sweeping mountain roads and long stretches of coastal highway where, at carefully chosen hours, speed limits can be exceeded with proper caution, of course.

I've gotten 2 tickets in the last 10 years. 1 for no front plate, and 1 for driving 10mph over the limit, even though I was really going 20 over. For the 2 times that I had to deal with the inconvenience of a minor infraction, I was probably lucky 200x not to be caught for something more...profitable...to our county. Wheelies on mountain roads, Italian tuneups early in the morning, any one of these things was worthy of me earning a fine.

Meanwhile, our local hard working officers were still making enough traffic stops to let the law of averages work in society's favor. My wife, who works for the Public Defenders office, tells me that traffic stops are the #1 way the police find people who have outstanding warrants, possession of a concealed weapon, illegal drug possession or trafficking, etc. On "arraignment Monday" (Courts are closed on weekends) she gets to meet all of these fine people as they plead Not Guilty, try and make bail, and then get assigned a court date.

Bottom line, supercar (or superbike for that matter) owners don't get a free pass just because they drive a nice car (or ride a Ducati.) There are plenty of drug dealers who can afford a nice car too. Cops are working the law of averages and if you or I get nabbed, it's just our turn. As someone else said, do a nice long burnout somewhere and we'll feel better.

    Bravo bravo!!!

'crcs' I hope you can/will someday appreciate the effort and commitment all law enforcement officers put into their job just as you do for your profession I am sure. The misconception is that all LEO's are power hungry yet nothing could be further from the truth, we want you and other driver's to make it home safely to their family.

Nothing more and nothing less, drive safe,

Ok so police should have the freedom to do random pullovers while guessing if someone is a criminal or not. Sir, have you read the principles your country was founded on? Police do not work for YOU nor society, they are individuals with their OWN self interest at hand first. Let me break it down for you. A cops number 1 priority is to himself and his colleagues, number 2 is to his employer and number 3 is to the "public". This is how it works in real life. A cop is pulling you over for no other reason then harassment(power high) and mutual benefit to his employer(revenue), plain and simple. Hes got a gun and a badge, a military haircut, you don't. End of story. You know I am right, but years of brainwashing into worship of law enforcement has created a stockholm syndrome among-st the general population. First people are coming up with safety excuses for being harassed, now its because police are using law of averages to book drug dealers. Whats the next excuse?

Now ask yourself this question. Traffic cops are generally despised by the public, they spend their days harassing regular citizens for revenue. Now what type of a human being do you have to be where you actually make this a chosen career? *Knowing* you are relatively despised, knowing you prey on mom and pop and enjoy it. What type of people are these? That's right, the worst type. Sociopaths, not only that they are also roided up half the time. Funny we are were talking about this and someone sent me a link.

I see. Police are good Samaritans that hand out helping hands to those in need. Strangers who have never met me yet care so much about my safety and my family. Where do these special breed of people come from? Assuming you are a police officer, looking at your prior posts where you went into an aggressive tirade about cavity searching me and threats about taking away my drivers license just proves my point. Of course, everything is a "privilege" to us regular peasants right? Including being mobile.

"The law is the law". How many times did they make you repeat that in police school? Is it justification for everything you do? Just because something is "the law" does not make it morally correct. 100 years ago it was illegal for slaves to run away from their masters, would you be chasing since its "the law".

Not a Ferrari, but was pulled over twice in one week in my Lotus for no front plate. The second cop who pulled me over just wanted to talk about the car, asked me if I track it, how fast I've gone... he didn't even ask for my license and didn't give me a ticket.

I think you can get a variety of reactions from cops.

Actually if you were not so defensive you would have percieved my humorous intent.

We come from a galaxy far far away yet we have been amongst you for thousands of years, maybe you are the alien??? We (LEO's) care just as much if not more about the safety of the other drivers who are in close proximity of a driver with your attitude/outlook.

    ^^^^^

Say's it all. Hey do your parents know you are a 'keyboard warrior' after they go to bed??

Sir, I'm not going to pursue this further. You being a cop, are well aware of where your loyalties lay first, and its not with strangers on the road. You can sing that tune all you'd like but not all of us were born yesterday. If ticket revenue was diverted 100% towards random charities, I can guarantee you the "safety" of other drivers would quickly seize to be a priority. The revenue is in the billions and keeps many of your higher ups employed(judges, beurocrats, court jockeys, lawyers etc.), not to mention those pension plans fully funded for when its retirement time. It's atypical for you to assume because someone questions your perceived authority(or lack of) they are automatically suspect or a criminal, but I am not surprised by that. Police 101, everyone is either a terrorist or a drug dealer. And no I am not defensive, by police standards isn't everyone who isn't submissive?

How dare you proceed to have the audacity to think you know what I think or believe in, shame on you.

Just another atypical conspirator. You are always looking for someone or something else to blame instead of being mature enough too accept that the blame lie's upon yourself.

Quite sad honestly as I did not forsee having to discipline someone tonight before my next police class!!
