The two secondary top roof rams have just suddenly stopped working together. One quiting i can deal with, but two together at the same time?? The two primary (Bottom/main) rams work fine. The top units have been unbolted for testing, and there is no movement in or out.
My question is this. What triggers the top secondary rams to work just before the main rams have fully extended extended?
Is it something as complex as ECU or some hidden micro switch that i cant find that activates the secondary top rams? Or indeed any solenoids?
I have checked the two fuses and swapped the relays.
Its not air bubbles as far as i know because i bleed it a few months back.
Its like a switch has been flicked.
I need to know what happens in the procedure please.
    Any roof tecs about please.

Sorry mate i dont understand, you have what?
I was asking a question about what activates the secondery cylinders
Are you refering to a ram you may have? If so i have not concluded my rams have gone just yet. But if i need them then you will be my first port of call.. Thanks

I'm no expert, but I think there is a micro-switch that kicks in when the roof reaches a certain point...

Surely someone who DOES know will chime in soon.

That's what i was thinking mate, i wonder if there is a triggering one.
I can only see the one micro on the left hand side that when activated allows the bleep.
There must be a trigger some were.

There is a selenoid behind the drivers side seat up high on the shelf below the top ram, it
is activated by a micro switch which connects the ground to test just jump a wire to ground

Hey right got ya :) I have never noticed this one before. I had a feeling something triggerd the top rams. The large rams lift the roof and almost closes it, then the little rams just gives that little finishing push.
Within the next few days i am removing the roof facric to replace it with a new roof. So this will make it easy for me to locate.
Thanks for your effort guys (355tsr & WATSON), great input :)
