The car that started it all for me was a white 308GT4-at the time I had no idea what it was but......it made me feel the same way girls did. It used to be parked in a shop next to the "green stamps" Store my grandmother used to frequent. Its for this reason I can't seem to decide on whether my first Ferrari will be the GT4 of the magnum 308. The first Ferrari I drove was when I was putting myself through college and was working for Dr. Detail in Boston. I drove a 348-although it was just to move it into the wash bay.
Never sat or drove a Ferrari until I worked at Ferrari of Denver Sat in 1989 328gts Drove 1989 328gts I still need to ride in a Ferrari
1975- 275 GTB came in the shop for a clutch. A worn out piece of junk in most people's eyes. I knew what it was, but couldn't convince anyone else of it's intrinsic value. That was then.
1961 sat in a 250 GT (I think, didn't keep track of the model number). Neat car. 1988 drove a 348TS, and bought it, since then I've owned a 348 Spider, 355B, 360 Coupe, the 430 and a mondial t. Art
First one I sat in was a 78 308GTS it was when I was in high school. A friend's father did and still owns it. I am better friends today and talk to him more these days then her. First one I drove is sitting in my garage 1980 308GTSi.
Back when I was 16 in 1987 a '83 308GTS Quattrovalvole. Sat in, went for a ride and drove it thanks to Gene at Ultimate in Longwood Florida. Bought my first in Jan '92, a one owner white on blue/tan interior '86 328GTS from Steve Delong at Shelton.
haven't sit, rode, or driven a ferrari yet :'( only seen them. and ill be seeing more in6 days!!! (palm beach)
When I was in my early teens my Grandad called me up and said I should pay him a visit so me and my Dad drove over there. His neighbour was a mechanic and he had borrowed a 400i from work. It was a UK T reg I think (could be wrong) in a metallic blue/green with tan inside. My Grandads neighbour took me on the backroads around Peakirk (tiny little hilly countryside roads) and hit just under 130mph at one point, all in the early evening with the lights popped up. I loved it, it was amazing. No idea where the car is now, this was in the ear when a 400i would go for about £50,000. I still have a real soft spot for the 400 model...
I didn't have to drive, sit, etc...I just heard. Back in the 80's my father molded fiberglass rear bumper covers for some newly federalized Lambos that came into the country via NY. I went to make a delivery with him. The owner of the import shop (used to be near the Meadowlands in NJ..probably long gone now) took us into the shop and there were Countaches and some Ferrari's in the work area. All of a sudden I heard the most incredible car turn over...I almost pissed my pants. It was an analog (carb) 512....I literally went weak in the knees (hot engines have always done that to me....I know...get some therapy). The guy kicked over a Lambo, 308, etc...but NOTHING sounded as good as that 512.
My first ride was in a 340 America (#0114A)... For a short impression see www.ferrari340america.nl The last was half an hour in a 250 MM last year before the start of the Mille Miglia, an incredible experience. Never drove of owned one
My first sit was in 1976, in a 1972 365 GTC/4....Bought it and drove it home, 90 miles, that day. Next, was in 1978, where I flew up to NH., sat in a 1958 250GT TDF, bought it that day, and drove it home to PA., approx. 260 miles, in the rain, that day. My next was in 1981, drove down to NC, sat in a 1953 375MM spyder, bought it that day, loaded up this "basket case" of a car, and trailered it home, approx. 450 miles, that day!!!.........And that, my firends, is the true story!! : )
As far as I can remember: Testarossa (see avatar picture) 355 Spider Nobody has trusted me with the keys yet
