Wearing my TAG today....I love it.
I'm a vintage guy so the new ones aren't on my "must have" list. Having said that I've always liked the whole Air-King line. If you get one all in silver color it is a very non-assuming watch that doesn't draw a lot of attention. Great for every day wearing. Stealth wealth.
CONGRATS!! Great watch. My Seamaster has seen heavy use since 2003, as I still wear it more than any other. Recently swapped the bracelet for a James Bond NATO strap. Nice, man! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Jeff. I sold a few watches to make room for this one, so I'll be wearing it often. I really like it!
Oops! Sorry. Don't shoot the messenger. But that isn't a James Bond NATO strap. Sorry, I know the sellers on Ebay say it is, but it just isn't. This is a screen shot from the movie Goldfinger. THE strap worn in the movie was navy blue & dark olive with burgundy outline stripes. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
And the follow up trivia is if you look closely you'll see the actual strap worn in the movie was 16mm not the correct 20mm as a strap for a 6538 Rolex Sub would be. The reason is at that time you couldn't buy a 20mm strap. The 6538 was considered very large and straps weren't being made that wide. Now the REALLY obscure trivia is James Bond NEVER wore an actual NATO strap. It was a standard buckle strap. Here is a picture of Sean on the set of Goldfinger. You can see the buckle & fabric keeper in the photo. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
And who's that "Sean" guy? THIS James Bond wears an Omega on a black and grey NATO. Image Unavailable, Please Login
And I originally got the Omega 'cause I saw THIS guy wearing it. The whole thing is too confusing. Let's get back to watch-of-the-day... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Couldn't resist it. Fairly thin and flat so it looks very nice, and is very comfortable. Watch hands are sooooo last Millennium. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bond wearing a Rolex Sub and driving an Aston. As it should be. Bond wearing Omega and driving BMW. I can look past. Bond wearing iwatch and driving Tesla. The World spins off its access. Everyone dies. Yes, back to watches! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is another sub $50 acquisition. I could not resist the original dial and the rich contrast in textures. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hublot Aerofusion chrono in rose gold with skeleton face. Picked up yesterday. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is the classic Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 Watch from the 1970's as seen here on Ferrarichat. IT is so fancy and rare it does not have a name. But it is mechanical. Just bought it on Ferrarichat. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
