Accutron movement? I've been keeping my eye out for a dive watch with an Accutron movement. Very nice.
Thanks. ETA 2834-2 movement. In theory, it's water resistant, but not in reality. I've had it cleaned and the seals done, but it won't pass a pressure test. I think if I had bought one with a better service history, it would have been fine for basic swimming. But for $100, you get what you get.
Unfortunately it was bad weather and i only enjoyed shooting some pics... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is my 2005 Citizen Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Chronograph. I picked it up, looked at it, but didn't put it on. (Couldn't find a thread titled "What watch are you NOT wearing today?") As all the scratches show, it used to be my go-to watch. It just needs to rest a little before I put it on again. Maybe I should get it polished. What I love about the watch is that it has a quartz movement but it is driven off of a capacitor rather than a battery. The capacitor is charged by a solar cell which doubles as the watch face. When the watch is not exposed to light, such as when it is under a shirt sleeve, it goes into hibernate mode where the second hand stops moving etc. It jumps back life in a fraction of a second after being exposed to light again. The main hands can be set to a second time zone which is extremely easy to set. Citizen was doing highly innovative things at the turn of the century. The photo doesn't show it, but the face sparkles blue, like a jewel. Image Unavailable, Please Login
