I just asked about a regular dial. He said he wont get any allocations this year but starting january 2023, he is accepting deposit for Datejust 41 to order.

Continuing my preference of weird old crap, I've had my latest 'ebay special' with me (next to the computer). On the surface it's a late 1800's British key wind and it sort of is. This is the Victorian equivalent of the trend of marrying small pocket watch movements into wristwatch cases. It's a re-cased and redialed 18th century movement dressed up in late 19th century clothes. The movement could be as late as the 1760s but it looks like 1740s to me.

Accuracy sucks (so far) but its fun looking next to my computer as I type at a machine that's over a quarter millennium old merrily ticking away.

    Regards,

    Art S.

PS. not my pics., those wouldn't load. The only difference is case is now a bit shinier now

Very nice. Stingray was my first impression. I’m looking for someone to make a stingray strap for me with deployant buckle.

I like it. What’s the finish on the dial?

Thanks! It was "Slate Jubilee"- with the "Rolex" textured in the dial- spec'd it and ordered in 1995- with the Arabic numerals was pretty unique- That dial no longer offered as i understand it.

It had Jubilee bracelet when new but when links wore through replaced with Oyster bracelet in 2015- Rolex was fine doing the swap since plain SS Oyster was original option- Wanted polished center links like my Daytona and Batman because I thought it would match the WG bezel but they wouldn't do it- No biggie- plain Oyster is fine.

Thanks for the compliment- Cheers :)

Thanks but I don’t have enough knowledge to guide somebody else through the process, especially remotely.
