Indeed it is. Best story ever was when I was at a convenience store two months ago or so, and a 9-11 year old boy asked my "hey mister, why does your watch have a hole in it." True story. Lol

    haha weight saving

you should have said “Sir, that is not a hole, that is a device invented in 1801 to counteract the effects of gravity on the accuracy of the timepiece. This device has since been proven to have no benefit for wrist worn timepieces but we still make them because they look good and are very expensive…”

    then watch his head explode

I had an acquaintance who was more senior than me on Wall Street in the early 2000s. He always wore Turnbull and Asser dress shirts with the signature barrel cuff and 3 buttons. A junior banker who didn't yet know the finer sartorial points once asked him, "Why do your cuffs always have three buttons?". His answer, "Because I can afford the third one".

Not an answer I would give, but I got a big chuckle out of it.

After years of painstakingly careful consideration – so much so that in the meanwhile it has been discontinued - I finally pulled the trigger and bought myself the most unorthodox, unapologetic, splendidly vulgar watch I ever set my eyes on.

I never had the chance to try it on: no store in my neck of the woods ever dared to have one available for this purpose. It is brash, enormous, unbelievably heavy and definitely not pretty. But I love it to bits.

Clearly I had to have it in white (dial) on white (bezel) on white (strap), else nobody would notice it (so far no one has, no kidding).

Ready to discover what it is? Hint: it’s an Omega (obviously, what else were you expecting from an Omega fanboy?).
