I am kind of new to this forum, but have been reading up on all the posts. I tend to stay pretty quiet cause I am not TOO knowledgeable about aviation yet, but I am learning, that is for sure! I guess what I am making this post for is the next step in the process of learning to fly. I currently go to college and will be getting my associates degree at the end of spring. So I am kind of broke from paying for school out of my own pocket. I am looking to go to a flying school to get all the way up to my commercial/CFI/CFII certificates. The problem with this is, there is soooo many schools out there, and I have trouble finding the best one to fit this. I am wondering if anyone knows of any schools in the NW, or Oregon more specifically. One that would have the option for loans or scholarships would be a definite plus. I am also looking at getting a degree in Aviation Science or Aeronautical Engineering, so maybe a combo of the school and flying school would be great. If anyone knows of somewhere I could look, it would help me greatly in my search! If you need any more info to narrow things down, please ask and I will try my best to answer. I really am serious about doing this, I just need a little help finding the right place, or if anyone knows of a place/person I can go to to ask all this information. Thank you very much in advance and your help is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I have gone to aopa.org and other sites like that... They all point to schools and such, but as for information, those schools never contact me like I request or send me info in the mail. I am looking for maybe a more specific site to go to, or a person/"hotline" that I can call to help me find the right school and help me get set up. I am very driven to learn to fly and someday go to the majors, but I know I need to do it one step at a time, so like I said, anyone who can help me, GREATLY apprecated. Thanks!

Oh, I also forgot to mention... I am not really looking for a college environment unless it is all about aviation or aeronautical engineering. It is cool to get a 4 year degree knocked out of the way while getting certificates, but I just want to be able to focus on flying. If it is anywhere outside of Portland, OR, it will be a bit hard for me to pull off, but still possible. Any place with housing options is a plus... Dont know how much more info I could have forgotten... Like I said, if any more questions to answer, just let me know!

    Thanks
