He'll drive to a 'boring' (in his words) 3rd place.

    Interesting is several things happened.

Kimi did drive a good race and finished on the podium. It was a bit of a sleep walk. Ferrari did screw up his pit stop but it didn't effect his race.

Those who said Kimi would be on the podium... you win!

Yah but I'm not too sure the heads of Abu Dabai appreciated the wet T shirt contest of the Merc aero engineer! How much to you want to bet that never happens again.

I'm pretty sure Kimi actually gets more coherent the more he drinks! :D

I remember Martin Brundle telling a story about how Kimi invited him to go out partying with him and his friends once after a race he'd won with Ferrari and he was amazed! - He said Kimi was the life and soul of the party and you just couldn't stop him talking!

He said that the group consisted mainly of Kimi's closest friends whom he'd known for years and who he was incredibly comfortable to be around, and that Kimi was cracking jokes all night long, singing and having a laugh.

Brundle said that if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes he would never have believed it!

(He also said that he left the party long before Kimi and his mates did as there was just no way he could keep up with them, but he was glad Kimi had invited him along)

And as a result, the final driver standings look like Noah's ark: 2 Mercedes, 2 Ferraris, 2 Williams, 2 Red Bulls, 2 Force Indias!

Alcohol loosen the tongue, they say ...

I am sure there is another side to Kimi Raikkonen that is not seen by the public at large.

I think he is bored by the media attention and has grown some sort of defense to it, hence his monosyllabic answers and his careless attitude.

If I remember correctly, Kimi was far from fluent in English when he landed in F1, and struggled with interviews for a long time. That may also explain his slow answers and his reluctance to speak much.

As far as I remember yesterday right after the race 15 people said he will be on the podium, now there are 21...I would be interested who the 6 are who voted afterwards :D

Before the Abu Dhabi GP David Coulthard had a brief interview with Mika Hakkinen and asked him if he spoke much with Kimi and Bottas, his reply was:

"No, not really, but the Finnish don't really do talking anyway!"

I think he's right, it's a bit of a national trait that the Finns have - Mika was hardly a chatterbox back in the day either was he? :)

Can you imagine Hakkinen, Raikkonen, and Bottas in a room together? It'd be 3 expressionless blokes quietly contemplating ways to achieve greater speed. :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.
