Strictly hypothetically speaking, what do you think the following package would be worth (or worth to you)?

    - A race-driven Ferrari F1 car (F2004-GA)(Unsure which one, who drove it and at which venue(s))
    - Membership in Ferrari's F1 Clienti program and all the perks that entails
    - Hot laps with Damon Hill in specially-prepared, two-seat F1 car
    - Two VIP passes to every F1 race for one season
    - All-access pass to the Ferrari paddock and pit area during the Monaco GP (includes access during the race where you would be given a set of team radio headphones to listen to the drivers and team)
    - All transportation and accommodations for the above-mentioned races
    - Private dinner with Damon Hill and other Grand Prix championship drivers
    - Private tea with Bernie Ecclestone
    - Private lunch with Jean Todt
    - One copy of the F1 Opus (850-page, 90-pounds) Champions Edition (hand signed by all 18 living Grand Prix champion drivers)(Only 100 Champions Editions were made)
    - One copy (of a total 400) of the Ferrari Opus Enzo Edition (created for the 400 original Enzo owners, signed by all five Ferrari Grand Prix champions
    - Guided tour of the Ferrari headquarters and factory
    - Behind-the-wheel drive at the Fiorano test track

This package was offered a few years ago and I was just curious as to what those on this board thought the value was.

    Thoughts?

Not much to me, but to someone into that, maybe 500k. The value would be in the car, but you'd have to expect huge maintenance costs to keep it running.

Fantastic list of items, but I would probably skip the private tea. ;)

500k sounds about right. But I would want tickets to the F1 races for 5 years after as well. And maybe 10 years just for tickets and no pit passes.

$500K? What's the F1 car worth alone? What did the package sell for when it was offered? Best bet to see what that's valued at would be to auction if off. My guess is it could go as high as $1.5 - 2MM. Some money bags guy would pay that if he's totally into it.

I misinterpreted the line about the F1 car. When I glanced over the list I was assuming it was just a drive, not the actual car.

I found this in an old Robb Report magazine I had in the basement ... it was in their "Ultimate Gift Guide" (December 2007). They had it listed for only ... wait for it ... $16 MILLION!!

I was shocked, so I started trying to see how they got that value. I was guessing the car might go for $2 million at the high end (if it was Shuey's championship-winning car) ... only $14 million left.

How much is it for VIP passes to an F1 race? Paddock Club passes for next year's Australian GP are going for $5,000 US, so say VIP passes are more ... maybe $7,000 US each. Two tickets ($14,000), 20 races ($280,000), plus full access at Monaco ... who knows what that's worth.

Airfare and accommodation in 20 cities would be worth a fair bit (call it the same as the tickets for the sake of argument - $280,000)

They say the books are worth $40,000 each ... the signed editions would surely be worth more. Call it $100,000

Now you're up to about $2.7 million ... long way to go to $16M

I guess they value Damon, Jean and Bernie pretty highly.

Come to think of it, they must have included a few year's dues for F1 Clienti. Don't know what that actually costs, but I'm sure you can add a few hundred more to the total.

I seem to recall the FXX Clienti program cost 1 million for a year, plus the car of course. Subject to correction.

Thats quite a package. Still, for $16 million you could have a 250TR, or a SWB Sefac, or a NART spyder or (maybe, on a good day) a GTO. Then again, I suppoose at that level you dont have to choose between one or the other.

+1 I rather have one of those cars than that package. Driving alone in a back road in a vintage Fcar >>>> than having to deal with all those egos over for an entire F1 season.
