THis is just to see if anyone can throw a fun idea out there:

I am changing jobs and have a few days off (Thurs the 25th thru Sunday the 28th) and would like to do something. Am open to anything, all ideas, except that I don't want to spend a ton of money (less than 2k) on a trip. I was hoping I could go to SEMA in Las Vegas but it happens to be the next week. Any other ideas? Other car things going on that weekend someplace I could fly to? If it helps, I live in NorCal and am open to driving and or flying. Let the ideas flow.....

Road trip! Go to Glacier Nat'l park and back, travelling through Yellowstone on the way. Awesome sights. And cheap.

A few months from now I would suggest a small scale ski trip, but since it is still too early my vote is for Vegas - especially if you are by yourself.

Whenever I changed assignments, I tried to chill with good friends. Some fine wine, fine food; gather my thoughts quietly. You want to walk in there on Monday looking and feeling like a million bucks. IMHO.

Not sure if your into lost mines/etc but we are having an annual Lost Dutchman Hunters Rendezvous that weekend here in the Phoenix area. It's being held at the Phoenix Don's Campsite. There'll be lots of people there talking about the Superstition Mountain history, books, mines, the Lost Dutchman Mine, etc. Should be a fun time if your into that kinda thing :) If you wanna go let me know and I'll set you all up. It's free. Bring a tent or camper ;)

If you're going to Vegas, visit the Bunny Ranch. ;)

I like this option. Take it easy and relax from the normal hustle bustle of daily work. Find a few tasks around the house or personal stuff you never had time for. Four days with a weekend thrown in goes by way to fast already.
