I always have fun with threads like this and have participated in them on other forums I frequent. Then I realized that some on this forum may actually have a million dollars to spend on what essentially amount to toys so this thread might actually have practical implications. So, now for some rules. If you want to give all the money to your aunt Betty or a charity or something that's very touching, but this is a forum about cars and so I want to know how you would spend a million dollars on cars and motorcycles as well as modifications to them. This will be in addition to your current vehicles. I'm cheap and my lists typically include 50+vehicles which is why I will post later.

All of the Ferrari's I really want cost over a million, so you made this more difficult. Lets see. I want one nice Lusso, but maybe with a little engine work. I think I could do that for maybe $250K, if im lucky. I would like a 512 TR, but hotted up a little with the side strakes removed from the doors, ala koenig, maybe with a turbo intercooler setup, but with the boost backed off so it will live. Another $100K? My 308 all done, new paint, oh, nevermind, that wont even make a dent in this money. One Lamborghini LP400, no ugly flares or wings, but probably souped up with a 5 liter motor. Another $100K? And alongside of it, a 365 Boxer. And with whats left, I would like a replica of a pontoon fendered 59TR, as closely built to an original as I could afford.

Forget buying a Ferrari, i'd find a way to turn it into 2 million then three and so on. Then i'd buy several. Every one that i ever wanted. Don't forget the mansion with a 40 car garage and racetrack in the backyard. Oh to dream...................:)

Peter Gibbons: What would you do if you had a million dollars?
Lawrence: I'll tell you what I'd do, man, two chicks at the same time, man.
Peter Gibbons: That's it? If you had a million dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time?
Lawrence: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I had a million dollars I could hook that up, cause chicks dig a dude with money.
Peter Gibbons: Well, not all chicks.
Lawrence: Well the kind of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do.
    Peter Gibbons: Good point.
Lawrence: Well what about you now? what would you do?
Peter Gibbons: Besides two chicks at the same time?
    Lawrence: Well yeah.
    Peter Gibbons: Nothing.
    Lawrence: Nothing, huh?
Peter Gibbons: I'd relax, I would sit on my ass all day, I would do nothing.
Lawrence: Well you don't need a million dollars to do nothing, man. Just take a look at my cousin, he's broke, don't do ****.

first, my four motorcycles. an 06 R6 with track bodywork and a full Graves exhaust system, a carbon fiber turbo gsxr1000 k5 like from the latest Ghostrider movie, my regular little F4 for day to day use with maybe a Devil highmount slipon and some other little things, and then a low mileage yellow Duc 748s or red Duc 916. so maybe $50,000 in all of that with some other random crap like front and rear Pitbull stands, a huge ass supply of oil, brake fluid, and other stuff for regular maintenance, plus maybe a nice motorcycle lift or two. maybe another $10,000 in some race schools like CODE and then dues for NESBA with some track days. so figure $60,000 total for 2 wheeled stuff.

for the four wheeled category, id start with a large truck and trailer to tow the bikes or cars around if i needed to, probably an F350 with an enclosed trailer, maybe $50,000. take a nicely worked over single turbo buick grand national. not sure how much thatd cost, maybe $50,000? then a low mileage 355 spyder, $120k. ****, i dunno. maybe put the rest into a nice heated garage, and then the retarded amounts of insurance, gas and major maintenance issues that will surely arise

I really wish I could get an F50 but that would take too much... sheesh.
I would probably get a 360 Spider and a "normal" car... maybe a nice Bimmer or Benz. Then I would give enough to my parents so they could pay off the rest of the house, then I would give a ton to my friends and relatives (probably give actual money to relatives and buy presents for friends), and I would keep the rest for college expenses and the future. Probably buy an iPod too, always wanted one of those :)

I'd have to start by buying a house with a large garage. I probably wouldn't spend over $300k on that. Then I'd pay off my Typhoon and do a few mods to it:
4L80E transmission, T76 Dual Ball Bearing turbo, Vortec heads, alcohol injection, and a full set of kevlar cladding. All that would total around $10k or so.
I'd buy a 1987 Merkur XR4Ti, and do a complete build on it. Total cost should be under $15k.
I'd buy a Porsche 959. Wouldn't pay more than $300k for that either.
    A nice Volvo V70R for a daily driver - $40k
    A new Audi RS6 if I can find one - $75k
    A Vector W8 - $100k.
    A Renault R5 Turbo - $35k
    A Porsche 944 Turbo S -$10k
Beyond that anything else I'd want is too expensive. I'd probably just invest the rest of the money.

Honestly, I couldn't do too much with a stand alone, non-growing million.

I definitely wouldn't blow the cash on cars. So if I put in somewhere that's giving me say 7% returns that gives me $70K per year to blow on cars. That would find me in a 599/575/430 and a Maserati QP, including insurance, gas, travel. That would easily devour $70k per year.

    Forza,

    Cavallini
