It seems as if there are so many 308's/328's to choose from as they come up on E-Bay and other sites often. I've also noticed that there are those with detailed service histories and recent services and those that were clayed and detailed and steamed, etc. that look decent but have no history. It's slightly confusing because many of those are sold by Dealers or private parties with excellent feedback. There is a red 328 on E-Bay that's been sitting there at $29,900/obo that looks clean except for a missing ac condenser. The Seller's feedback is excellent. I'm surprised this hasn't sold. I understand the 328 is very reliable with extensive upgrades and relatively easy to work on. I realize that there is a greater % of buyers who believe in paying more for the extensive history + PPI's. I prefer finding a great deal and taking some risk, risk that has paid off for me in the past. I like the minor DIY projects and also have the support of an Indie mechanic. I wonder the value of a 328 that isn't perfect compared to a better kept 308. I currently own a 360 and think a 308/328 would be an excellent addition!

I think that car also has a broken front fog light. That implies a curb hit or something...maybe no big deal, but I just tapped my E-Type and it's going to cost me $1,500 to get the dent out and repaint.

My guess is there are better examples. If money is a concern, consider the best one you can buy for the price. Example might be the Euro 308QV that Wade was selling or the car I just purchased. Both cars are in excellent shape and sold around $29,900. My car needs nothing, and has a laundry list of upgrades (QA1's, new hoses from Dave Helms, re-dyed interior, new tires, etc.)

If that doesn't concern you, then I would look at the car. Something scares me about it being out there so long, since my car was on eBay for less than a day and someone hit the "buy it now" option...meaning, a good value will likely get snapped up quick.

I understand and am willing to wait for a great deal. Do you happen to have your item # or a link to your listing on E-Bay? I'd like to see what I missed and how it compares. Thanks

The market has been smashed flat the past year or two....

The other caution is the cost of Ferrari specific parts has also gone up.

The missing compressor will be a PITA to procure.
That front light has been No Longer Available for years, to the point a Fchatter had some made in China as "glass art pieces" and sold them here, to the delight of hundreds...

Other than that "missing history" is what it is....if the car looks good, it was either pampered (as interiors are soft) or it was rebuilt "for some reason"....

Post up some VINs you'd be amazed what people here "know"....

Mine was up for half of the day, so I don't think I have the listing, but let me check. Look under the thread titled "Who wants a Euro 308QV" for the listing on the other car.

That car looks like maybe a right front impact. Headlight looks off on passenger side. Grill looks bent next to broken turn signal. He notes missing condensor and lens damage. One has to ask....just what else is going unmentioned....or is missing. Looks to me like an incomplete repair after something like an animal strike. Rest of the car looks nice. No mention of service history....so consider it needs timing belts and bearings and valve clearances. I would go look this over in person if truly interested. All of these cars get some history with their age. 25 comes to mind for a price considering the unknowns. Could be a bargain easy repair for a driver.....or a nightmare of hidden undisclosed damage and an engine or trans needing rebuilt.

Got to wonder why not fix these issues before bringing it to market.

I don't know about an accident...

The headlight needs adjustment in two directions, for sure.

But one rock can shatter out that $1100 (using Ferrari part number) lens, and it will look like that.
Paint and interior on that car look very nice.

Hood looks off..bent...and rad vents too in the pics...and grill slats. Lots of circumstantial evidence of something on that side. But, Miami is nice and warm this time of year. Hard to tell from the pictures...feel like they are from a mile away...., but it shows well from what you can see. If I were in the market for a possible bargain, I think I would head to South Beach.

A big untold story there. Lots of damage to that corner.

The car has been on Ebay several times. I highly doubt people have been avoiding it in droves because it is such a good deal.

On top of all that piecing together a POS Ferrari is a sure way to have record money in a car. To many good 328s in the world to buy junk.

It is 10 grand away from being a 30,000 car.

    Brian:

Is it that one that had more damage when first listed? I seem to remember one that looked like it got backed over when first listed, then relisted with some repairs made and updated photos.
