Well, which one? Would you take the F50 over the F40, or F40 over F50, or both?

Im experiencing a strange feeling of deja vu...have I experienced this thread in another life? Hrmm.

I'll answer anyway. Now who here would NOT take both given the chance?[That's sarcasm, no need to chime in] If I had to pick one though I'd take the F50.

EVERYONE knows the F50 has the more sublte styling with all the correct lines and is more the drivers car than the F40 could ever be.

F40.......... call me crazy but I think I'd take a F40 over a Enzo. Of course this is without any seat time in either.

    I'd go 333sp(hehe),F40,F60,288gto,F50.

I love the sound of the F50, but its style falls flat to me.

    (/end nomex lining) haha

The F50 is probably the ugliest supercar ever produced, where as the F40 is the most beautiful. Besides that, the F40 will ever be the iconic mother of all contemporary supercars. It has to be the F40, hands down. Question would be trickier of the F40 was up against the Enzo.

The F40's got a V8, it also has close performance numbers. But, would you rather hear a V8 or V12? (Dumb question)

That's a tough one... I find the styling of the F40 to be superior, but the F50 does have those extra cylinders! If given a choice between the two, in person, I'd really have to drive them and make my decision based on that. If the F50 were yellow, it would make it a lot harder for me to chose the red F40...

I know the F40 has a V8, thats why i said the V12 sound behind your ears. I nevr doubted the F40 has perforamce near the F50, im just stating i prefer the F50.

    (ha! take your best shot)

Though this question has been asked several times last year, here we go again.

Both cars rank in supercar status, but are two different animals. The F40 to me, is one of the best looking fcars to come out of the '90's. It's sleek shape flying down the road is a awsome sight to behold, let alone parked. I have never driven an F40(would love to), but I know what twin turbo boost feels like when those turbos kick into full thermonuclear thrust. It's a very powerful feeling.
The f40 is a bare bones car, interior wise. But that's what you would expect from half race car, half street car. It gives a flavor of seriousness.
I can identify and would feel more comfortable in that sort of platform.

The F50 doesn't do it for me. It's not that I dislike the car, but the appeal is not there. I have to agree with everyone about the twelve cylinder power and exhaust note, it is the sound of Ferrari. Speaking in terms of power, it's nowhere close to the 512m, but I absolutely love everything about the 512m for packaging a twelve cylinder in a Ferrari platform.... hands down, the 512m.

If i could have both, obviously, i would take both... However, if choosing one over the other, i'd have to go with the F50... If i had bigger balls, i'd go with the F40...

I like the rawness of the F40, but I also like the clean, smooth lines of the F50...so it is a tough decision. I've seen the F50 in person (and F40) and it was stunning...and I really like the removable hard and soft top. So I think I'm leaning more toward the F50. MAN thats a tough decision!

    F40.

    Period.

I'd take a F40 (a GTE specifically) over ANY other F-car if I could have only one. (Free of course;)) I guess it just appeals to the old Hot Rod/Drag Racer in me!

My first "desired" car was a F40 when I was younger. It was the poster-standard for all Supercars.

The F50? Some say it was a step forward then a half step backward. In terms of acceleration the F40 and F50 are very similar. But in terms of track performance, the F50 is in another league.

The screaming V12 is enough to make your spine tinkle and your body writhe under it's joy. While the F40's V8 Twin Turbo lets you know that "Hey, I'm gonna waste you and you're gonna love it."

Both are not "comfortable" rides in any sense. The F50 is probably lesser in that sense. They're both amazing machines.

    I'll take:

    Ferrari F50.

    1) V12.
    2) F1 formulated design.
    3) Possibly first and last Ferrari Supercar with a 6-speed manual.
    4) Spawned the F50 GT.

I'm a rag top man, I'll go with the F50. Plus, it's hard to argue with a V-12 Ferrari.

How can you call F50 ugly?
It is one of the best looking Ferraris ever produced.
    I'll take F50 over F40 any day.
