That would be a tough call for me. I would probably go with the Daytona but I'm old school. You win either way. Gee, I wish I had your problem.

If you traded you would have a car to drive at any time you wanted unless you already have a fun car. You are going back in time. If you are a new car guy you will have a lot of adjustments to an old car. It will need a lot of attention I suspect and the low miles is not necessarily a good thing. Lots of stuff will be stuck or dry or have moisture in it or rust.
I think the daytona's are just grand and they are a real Ferrari with an image. I wouldn't get an old car just because I've had old american cars and its always something. Its easy to fall for the Daytona but living with it may be more of a challenge. Punn intended.

    No brainer, the Daytona.

360 Challenge cars are only going to get cheaper when the F430 Challenge version is out...

    Daytona, all the way.

I had the pleasure of chasing one a few weeks ago during our Bermuda Run rally. Honestly, I had no idea they developed so much usable power. The thing just swallowed my 348 like a minnow. Although it bellowed black soot under WOT, it was amazing.

Don't be silly. Get the Daytona.

I can't help but find this amusing. Why, you ask? Because I sold my 360 Modena F1 and bought a Daytona last Oct, and I'm really, really glad I did. It was pretty much a straight across deal. Boy, did I time that one right! Sure, the Daytona will have a lot more needs, but most of them I can attend to. I couldn't say that about the 360. I find I drive the Daytona more and get a lot more enjoyment out of it.

And if you decide the vintage experience isn't for you, sell the Daytona for more than you paid, and buy another CS for less than what you sold yours for...

Looks like a pretty nice Daytona. The really, really nice ones are heading to $250K.

The nice thing about the older cars is that you don't suffer the big hit on depreciation. Even if you can afford it, $100,000 in depreciation on a 360 is $100,000 gone.

Wes, I'm not sure what the Challenge is worth but I think it would be cool if you could get the Daytona and also keep your Modena.
I think your Challenge is awesome but you would drive the Daytona a lot more.

Don't everyone try to hit me at once, but if I was in your shoes, I would keep the 360 and buy a late 70's Maserati Ghibli SS. I know that if a Ferrari is what you want then it won't do, but for $50K you get a helluva good competitor to the Daytona, and most would agree that it is just as beautiful.

    Just my opinion.

Wes, is that Challenge car, the same Challenge car that raced as number 36 in the 2000 North American Challenge Series...?

Depends really whether you like the new style or vintage, comfort or raw, investment or fun driving. I personally would go for Daytona as it is so gorgeous and its value will only go up and up.

I would keep the Challenge. I personally like going to the track and autocrosses where the Daytona wouldn't be as much fun even thought it seems like a really nice car.

It's funny because Wes doesn't want a Maserati. He wants a Daytona. From what I know about Wes, he won't settle for less than the best. He either wants a F40 or a Daytona so, I don't think a Maserati will cut it.

That is why I originally wrote, "I know that if a Ferrari is what you want then it won't do..." because I thought he may feel as you have stated. And now I know. Oh well, thanks for the info Mike.
