I know Porsche started zincing their cars in 1976, That solved their rust problems that where common before that.
Does anyone know if Ferrari zincs their cars and if so what year did they start?

    Thanks Mojo

Ferrari started to rust proof in 1983/84.

My march build 83 was not one of them so I found out yesterday

The Belinetta Boxer was the first Ferrari to use galvanized steel in the cabin section, the 308s did not get rust proofing till 83.

Jaguar used zinc 35+ years, circa E-type and Series 1 XJ days. And even with waxoyl or another form of undersealant, they still rusted eventually. :D

Zinc doesn't protect aluminum (it actually corrodes aluminum more quickly).

You have to use Magnesium to protect aluminum from electrolysis, corrosion, etc. However, zinc does work for protecting steel/iron.

Sorry I should have said rust-proofing. Im no chemist.
Sounds like an 84 or newer Ferrari would be covered.
