In here? No biggie, plus you don't really have a moderator to abuse for what goes on, as no one really has an eye on you. (And try to keep that between us, don't want the rest of the guys here knowing that. )

But on the rest of the site, you really have to stick to the rules. He really stayed after it, wouldn't let it go, and got mildly whacked on the knuckles for it.

If one of the other mods had stepped in, it could have been for much longer. Matt (smiles) is pretty hard to rile up, and is left to his own devices when it comes to moderating.

I’m not going to be at the front of the queue to defend the Toorak Troll, but I do have an issue with you saying that “Aussie-ness” outside of the Aussie forum is a problem.

Aussie-ness refers to the way you guys treat each other in this forum. It's quite a bit more wild west in here than is allowed in any other forum, and you very well know that.

There has been an understanding that as long as that "in your face" style stayed here, it would be ok here. But if it leaks out into the other forums, then there would be consequences.

anything more than that is just your imagination running wild.

And yes, there have been bans handed out to non-Aussies who get out of control in here.

You guys aren't stupid. There are rules here, you agreed to them when you joined. Click the link in my signature in case you've forgotten them.

Some of those rules are unofficially relaxed in the Aussie Forum. for instance, you have long running threads that are P&R, that's not supposed to happen outside the P&R forum, but since they generally are about Australian issues, we leave them here for you guys to discuss.

The tone of many of your regular posts are insulting towards each other. Insulting a member here is grounds for a ban, yet, short of suggesting a guy here should be killed, there are no bans for insulting each other.

Everyone who posts here understands that, except apparently one or two of you.

I got a month ban for calling Hamilton a **** in the F1 forum but some others in there said exactly the same thing using the same word and not a thing was done, that is one of the problems with the modding in there

Here we have the Papster who knows how to bypass the filter with the best of them, no problem with that as I consider guns far more pornographic than swearing or nudity, not that I want to see the Papster nude
