There is a proposal to review some FCA rules in today's mail. Number one is a revision with respect to discipline options, changing the method of appeal if disciplanary action is taken against an individual by way of membership suspension. It is essential that the current method of appeal remain, otherwise a group of likeminded friends can effectively rule unfairly against another member without the member getting a fair hearing in front of impartial people... for christs sake....VOTE NO. It's just too easy for a bunch of f!!kwits to run this club, as we have seen over the last few years (hi trevor) and without this right of appeal, it's too easy for a noisy minority to make unfair decisions. V O T E N O!!!!!!!!!!!
good one Scud I would love to see PP on the ballot form, it would be one of the funniest ballots of all time I could imagine some of the replies , let alone the vote !!!!!!!! start a new thread to have PP as Prez and see if any of the FCA reply Gil would give him the job, 360C, 348CH , they would do it just for the laugh they would have I personally think he'd do a good job
Another good reason to live in QLD - I know you're talking about a national rule in this case, but it just reminds me how lucky we are here where we have Uncle Ray and the ladies to organise great events for us and everyone just gets on and has a good time without the *****ing that seems to hamper some of the other states...
oi! Karen, you can't call Brendan or Ray Saunders "ladies" we do strangely get along though with never a bad word said, except when bloody Ray wins another concour
" coz it's good to be the king " is there any monetary benefit in being national ? their would be no Ferrari Club of AUSTRALIA, it would be Ferrari club of <insert state here>
rephrase... what do we need state committees for? Technology today means we could centralise and have sub-committees to deal with regional activities... oops forget, many of the FCA luddites are still afraid of PCs
I thought currently there was a national body and then state bodies that more or less operate independently under defined rules... You won't get only state clubs as Ferrari SpA wouldn't support it.
It doesn't as such, but it does sanction the club. When a group of us investigated starting a Ferrari Drivers Club we were told it would be difficult to get sanctioning by Ferrari as it was unlikely to sanction two clubs... But what would it mean if it didn't? NFI
that is the crucial word "sanction" it gives the sanctioned tossers the right to flip the bird to the non-sanctioned upstarts - it's just a state of mind, no money changes hands
BTW, what are BOTH questions... One is the boys club rule and the other??? I quit the club over its management but still like to be in on the goss!
One was as AIRCON said. The other was about reducing the amount of representatives from each state. They want to change VIC from 4 down to 2 (and also NSW from 4 to 2 for starters). I think that only having 2 people voting on things doesn't give you as much scope as 4. As an example, if NSW was just Trevor and Tony, we would of had some real problems.....NSW -vs- VIC. It was bad enough as it was. SO vote NO to changes of representives from each state...............leave it as it is.
I read 5 rule changes : 1. Discipline Options Limited 2. Independant vetting of candidate claims in elections 3. Election method 4. National focus 5. Balancing comments on business items for proxy voting I want to see the plain english version before I tick the box , what does "formulate detailed proposals for adoption of rejection at the AGM" mean ? looks like a forgone conclusion to me if you're going to adopt rejection
what this means is that if one of our members (let's say Tom Warwick), doesn't agree with what the president is saying, and then sends emails around slagging the president, then the president and the committee has the power to act in manners, like out-lawing that member or cancelling his membership etc. etc. Basically handling that scenario, whatever way they deem fit. So in other words, all members have to shape up or be shipped out. You know, the one thing that all these guys forget is that this "IS A CAR CLUB", not the board room of BHP
When I was having my 'fun' with the club a certain state prez told me "this is a social club" Much later he corrected the statement in a club meeting. The point is, it SHOULD BE a car club; focussed primarily on driving, restoring and promoting Ferraris. I think each president needs to have the aims of the club as per the consitution tattooed on the foreheads so they don't create their little narcissistic empires... Oh well, I still reckon there is space for a real Ferrari Drivers Club
