    Hi everyone,

I'm interested to buy this 2003 Maserati from FoQ.
    http://www.ferrariquebec.listingauto.com/en/usedcars/listing/details.spy?id=456869

According to the Salesman, this car was used as FoQ demo car. It was driven by another FoQ salesman last winter.

When I dropped by last Thursday to take a look at the car, I was told that the mechanics were replacing the differential of the car. The car still has factory warranty for 3 more year. Apparently, the car was never sold to a private customer and was not accidented.

Does anyone know more details about this car?

FoQ is asking 72500$. Do you think I can negotiate down to mid-60s?

Also, I'm planning to trade in my 1999 Carerra 4 silver/black with full leather, technique package, clean condition, 74000km. How much do you think I can get for this car?

Thanks in advance for your advices.

    Jack

Ask them how much they are asking for that 97' yellow/black 355 GTS... that will give you an idea of how rediculously over-priced that dealership is.

Jack, welcome to the board. Welcome ot the world of ferrari/maser....you will find that the dealers are overpriced and negotiate little. You have to decide on whether you think its worth it. If they are asking $72...odds are you might be able to shave the 2k. They move very little. Its not the same mentality as other car dealers. Good luck on your purchase.

Post pics after if you buy...

They're already changing the diff on a 2003????? IMO, walk away from this car and keep your Porsche. And as mentioned, these guys don't negotiate.

That car is indeed the demo car, everytime i make a visit to FoQ i see it parked out infront or see a customer taking it for a spin... Very good looking car, but the price maybe a bit to steep for it...

Do yourself a massive favor. Keep the Porsche. It is twice the car the Masser is. Prosche is a tank compaired to the flimsy Maserati and resale will be better on the Porsche aswell.

Mmmmm....demonstrators. Seek them out everytime you buy a car. Never properly run in. Never properly warmed up - just hop in and floor it!

    Be afraid...

Be aware that 3 maseratis cambiocorsa (champagne, blue and red) from FoQ were being used at Tremblant for track days for any company or corporations that were willing to put out $5K a day to have their clients, freinds, families etc kick the crap out of these cars. I was invited by one of my customers to attended this event and I can tell you that these cars took an incredible amount of punishment. If the instructor felt comfortable with you,he would let you loose. I happened to get in a car with an instructor (Bob) who knew me from ferrari track days and he pretty laid back and let me have a go. There is nothing like a feeling when it's not your car and the owners/sales rep from FoQ were encouraging you to test your limits. The car handled very well, it outperfroms my previously owned f-cars. It doesn't have the power of my 512tr, but it definitely handles better. I would compare this car equivalant to at 355, not bad for a four seater.

I am not saying that this is the car, but ask questions. A demonstator with that kind of mileage.....hmmm???
If you are looking for a 512tr, mine is for sale.

    Good Luck !!!

The best part is that Tony's 512TR was always the car that got the MOST attention at any show...believe me.

    Thanks everyone for the comments.

I met Jean Francois last Thursday at FoQ and he seemed to be a nice guy. I thought Ferrari sales guy would be very arrogant or snobby, like some of the Porsche salesman I met in the past.

I've arranged to test drive this car on Tuesday or Wednesday. And I'll see if what kind of price they offer.

I really enjoy driving my Porsche but I have this car for 5 years already and I want to try other brand of sport car.

    Will keep you guys updated!

    Jack
