The 348 I bought today has a "tubi" exhaust. I understand this is an aftermarket item and I'd really like to keep the car stock. What does the tubi do for the car? Should I keep it or ditch it?

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Sell it to me for $200, and put a stock muffler back on.

Are you serious you have never heard of Tubi exhausts? Somehow i dont believe you....:) It is an aftermarket exhaust/muffler. It makes your 348 sound awesome. I like the Capritso systems better personally. But its your call whether to ditch it or keep it. Once you hear it........im sure you will want to keep it. If not,you can send it to Australia if you want? Ill give it a good home. ;)

I've heard of them, just wasn't familiar with what they are. Thanks for filling me in. How would it sound any different from a factory 348 exhaust? Surely it doesn't sound like one of those silly souped-up Hondas you see. ???

I can understand your questions. If I just would have bought a car with an aftermarket exhaust I would wonder why they had to improve the perfect.

My car was entirely stock when I bought it and I like it that way (I even didn't add chrome horses and left it black below her waistline). Only one thing about the car that 'dissappointed' me: the sound. My stock 328 sounded a lot nicer.

With the stock muffler it wasn't what it should be. Understand me right, I really don't like 'improved' cars.

Then I heard about Tubistyle. Asked my mechanic to give me a call when a 348 with a Tubi arrived at his shop. Went and listened. It just brought a smile to my face, couldn't help it. This is how the car should sound. So as from the 16th of May my car is equipped with a Tubi-exhaust.

Another indication: try to find a used one (you can't, opposed to stock mufflers, there are always at least two every week on e-bay).

I've got a quicktime-file (8 Mb) of my car with a the stock muffler, I wouldn't like that clip to be on the internet (it shows my license plate) but I could mail it to you, send me an e-mail.

How about sell the Tubi for $2k to someone and get a stock exhaust for around $200, and use the other $1800 for the new wheels / tires??? As you can tell, I am REALLY good at math! I like the stock exhaust, and I have heard a few people complain that the Tubi is too 'booming' at highway revs. You may want to get your catalytic conveters 'tested'.

I just picked up an NSX with brand new Nitto tires on them, can't tell you if they are good or not. I'm sure they're fine, just don't know anything about them. Maybe someone will chime in that has heard something about them.

Yea a kind of booming hollow sound, that just drones on and on.........rarther like yours Jas;)
Unlike my sweet smooth sounding Capristo:D The Capristo company did the right thing with the system for the 348. Make the thing look as ugly when its on a 348 so they will have to go the Tubi way;)........but hang on the 348 is ugly any ways:D:D
