I have used simple chuck for several years. However, the unit is a little awkward and tips over alot and when it does it breaks the plastic piece where you screw in the house. This has happened at least 7 times. I have ordered the replacement part which is cheap but I am just getting tired of doing it and really think its a bad design that should have been fixed by now. So at any rate, I'm looking for a new system. Any thoughts?

I use a self-contained power washer with a couple of gallons of distilled water for the final rinse

I have used the simple chuck for years. I like it and have had no issues with it tipping over although I do find that the hose fittings are not as good as I would want them to be. Regardless, I can get somewhere around 20 washes out of the resin tanks before needing to replace them (that is using it for the rinse cycle only). I have searched for other systems, but haven't found one that is significantly better (spec wise).

I have the stainless line hooked to the spigot and then run a 10' hose from the simply chuck to my pressure washer.

I'd love to hear if someone has found anything better that specifically has more capacity as the resin tanks are expensive to replace, especially doing numerous vehicles.

I have Rayne soft water at my house so I had a plumber tap into the hot and cold water lines coming off my water heater in the garage, then ran those to a shower mixer. Then to a spigot on the outside wall of my garage. It’s not as good as deionized or distilled water but it’s almost free and never runs out. Nothing to refill. I’ve heard those deionized systems are costly to keep refilled. This was $300-$400 for the plumber to do it.
Ifs also great for bathing my dog.

    I bought this thing: https://www.griotsgarage.com/portable-water-deionizer/

I'll let you know how it works

I did find one more replacement nozzle for the simple chuck system so i'll use that until it tips over again. I try to not pull the hose and tip it but it just always seems to fall. or a kid knocks it over when i'm not even using it.

It falls over because it’s top heavy like a scuba tank. Are there any scuba shops near you? It’s a common problem, and they might have a tank rack.

I’ve used this CR Spotless deionizer for several years for rinse water. Deionized water sheets off the surface and doesn't bead up. Several of my cars have chrome wire wheels and I’ve found this water and a blow gun to be the best method to keep them looking decent.
I think that there is a competitor for this deionizer now from DI for less money. Mine was about $400 from Costco online. It comes with spare media for the tanks but I’ve yet to need to replace it.
We have well water, so run everything thru a softener, the water feed for car washing has a hot/cold mixing valve set at about 90 degrees F. I can reroute the hoses on the wall for various options.
The stainless steel covered device above the filters is an on demand pressure washer that is sold for applications like meat packing plants. The great features include ability to run dry without scoring the pistons, ability to handle warm water, and in use it idles until you pull the gun trigger and it almost immediately gouges to the full set pressure. This one is 5 HP electric and does 2800PSI. It’s lasted 5+ years which is better than my experience with gas powered pressure washers Image Unavailable, Please Login

I just rinse with 6x gallon jugs of deionized water after washing in the shade. Start at the roof with a new gallon in each hand and keep a large flow. Blow dry with a removable shop vac blower. No spots and no filters to mess with and never leaves spots. No towels!

Also, have pre-cut covers that go over the F12 rear deck grills so they never get wet. Blue painters tape on the corners of the decklid brake light to keep water out of there as well. Getting too old to do this routine (especially wheels) so blow off and use detail spray after driving to cut down on washing.
