Old school hard tacos. Top shelf! We did homemade pizza. One of the wife's gal pals came over - her hubby is in Germany - so I made some pizza. No pics of the grub, but we enjoyed this wine that the wife got at Costco. Quite excellent IMO. Image Unavailable, Please Login T
Bacon cheeseburger with onion rings at Triple O's...……. I bought pizza dough at Safeway yesterday. Going to make my own pizza tomorrow. Tonight going to make pesto linguine. I'll use the left over pesto on the pizza.
Agreed, and at about $12 a pop @ Costco, it's a deal. I'd rate it higher than 3.8 stars. At least 4 in my book. Was good w/ pizza. If all goes to plan, get to have a glass with steak tonight...T
I agree. I’ve gotta hone in my ratings, I’m a little too lose I feel on Vivino. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Image Unavailable, Please Login Steak. Heavy rain put the kibosh on my grilling plans. And, I'm too hungry to wait for a reverse sear. So, it's old fashioned pan cooked steak. Finish in oven. Image Unavailable, Please Login T
Color looked pretty good after removing from oven, if I say so myself. Served with steamed broccoli and the remainder of that montepulciano wine. Image Unavailable, Please Login Taste was pretty good for $5 Kroger rib eyes. I guess the pink Himalayan salt and bacon fat helped. T
Deal! Have to be down in the Woodlands in early December and may have time to kill after my meetings. Could be a good opportunity to do an H-town bbq tour. And grab a slice of pie at House of Pies! T
Image Unavailable, Please Login This is wine I posted above. I was reading up on the wine. I thought this little tidbit was very cool. "The idea of the ‘tralcetto’ was born on a winter’s day of rest and meditation for the men working in the vineyard. While collecting the vines that had been pruned, grandmother Anna saved a small piece of vine and placed it in her apron pocket. When she returned home, she was assisted by her son Italo, who was a wine grower, to tie the piece of vine (tralcetto) with a string at the neck of a wine bottle. Doing this symbolized that the wine had been grown from that vine, and that it had been produced through the hard work of grandmother Anna’s hands. From that moment on, in 1957, the story of the ‘tralcetto’ has identified Italo Cescon’s classic production of genuineness. The tralcetto tied to the bottle IS actually a pruned piece of the vine from Italo Cescon's vineyard. To this day they are hand tied and applied to the bottle." http://divinowholesale.com/news/tralcetto-story Image Unavailable, Please Login T

That all just looks great. A friend was in town. He's from the South, and wanted some good Texas bbq. So, I hit up my sources for somewhere new and good that I haven't been to before. Someone suggested 407BBQ up on I35W near Argyle. This is a joint in a small shack next to a liquor store & RV park. Oh yeah, that sounds promising! Myself and friends shared three 3-meat plates. Brisket. Very, very good. Ribs. Good. Smoked meatloaf. Interesting. Sausage - jalapeño cheddar. Very good. Ham. OK. Turkey. OK. Green chili creamed corn. Excellent. Green beans. Very good. Baked beans. Meh. Slaw. Didn't try. Potato salad. Bland. The stack in the back is banana pudding. Image Unavailable, Please Login T
LMAO. I Door Dashed Catfish Station for dinner with my friend. I asked her if we should get banana pudding and she got this **** eating grin on her face lol.
It's not the best I had. But it was good. None of my compadres complained. Think Flores BBQ near Lake Whitney is the champ of banana pudding...T Absolute best dessert I've had at any Texas Q joint is a small place near Lubbock. TCs Ponderosa in Dickens. Pineapple pudding. I was ready to arm wrestle my wife for her portion after wolfing down my own. https://m.facebook.com/pg/TCs-Ponderosa-290885770387/reviews/
Ours wasn't bad, pudding was too runny though. And good chunks of bananas and waffers. Pineapple pudding. Now that sounds interesting. I love pineapples and pineapple juice. I've never heard of such a thing.
Hit me up if you're ever in DFW area. We can try some que spots. Tonight, the wife wanted Chick Fil A. Captain Cheapskate is down with that since I had a coupon for a free sammich for filling out a online survey. Spicy chicken for me. Regular for the wife. Shared an order of fries. Now the big question, what wine to enjoy with our grub? Rosé! Image Unavailable, Please Login T
