I just got back from McDonalds. Big Mac combo with poutine. It was ok. Had a coupon.

Yep, from Baltimore BBQ Co. No high fructose corn syrup. Spice it up with bourbon.

Home, after the excesses of Orlando! :D
The last night, we let our dear friend chose. She chose a chain restaurant. Oy vey!

After bouncing around on the flight to DFW, I needed some comfort food, i.e., chicken soup.

I don't mind chains, in central Washington State, the indy restaurants are not very good. So a chain there is better.

Made corn beef in the insta pot and in turn made sandwiches. Canned tomato soup too. Tonight I'm thinking Fatburger. Its been awhile since I've gone there. They make the best fast food burgers here. I'm going on a diet soon for summer, so getting in my fast food fix this week.

Dinner at Chula Seafood Uptown last night. Truly great food:

Grilled halibut, cumin spiced carrot salad, Thai papaya salad, clam chowder, and fish and chips with Atlantic Cod.

    Prime strip steaks from Costco.
Cooked until 115 F internal in a 200 F oven. Finished off ~1.5 min per side over a charcoal /oak fire.

I just finished snacking on some leftovers as I sat down to check F-chat...still very yummy and so "fresh" tasting and good crunch. Great stuff!

Agreed. I have not found a place around here that does a great green papaya salad. tried it myself once, and, to be honest, it sucked. Best I've ever had was a food truck on North Shore of Oahu. Been addicted to it ever since...T

Chains are fine for things like burgers and such. But, here in Texas, I have no idea why anyone would go to a Taco Bell, Del Taco, etc. We had a guest in town, who now lives in Buffalo, but is originally from Phoenix. So, I took him to a couple of hole-in-the-wall Mexican joints. I think for 3 meals - two dinners and a lunch, we may have spent a grand total of $50. :D

My parents had a house in Paradise Valley. I lived there from 1994 to 1995. The Mexican restaurants, one word awesome. I'm thinking about getting a cheap condo in Scottsdale for winter. Central Washington state being agricultural has a large Mexican population and some good restaurants too.

Since we are moving to the UK later this year, I am selling off a bunch of stuff on Craigslist...first thing that went...

    My Weber Grill!

    ughhhh!!!

I don't go more than a couple of days without grilling...what am I gonna do

[well, we are leaving for 3 weeks in Europe starting next week and then going to WY for the summer after just a couple of weeks back in AZ, but still...that's like 21 total days here in AZ without a grill. Is that survivable?]

From Amazon UK. There is no acceptable reason to go without flame kissed food!

Congrats, big guy. That's an exciting move. Work? Family? Just because?
