On the assumption it has to cool off eventually. It does, doesn't it?!? Root vegetable soup. Sweet tater, turnip, onion and zucchini. Sweat with paprika, salt and pepper, garlic powder, a little tarragon, and the merest addition of some cayenne. Sweating medium = bacon fat and olive oil. Add chicken broth, a splash of milk. Then blitz with a stick blender.

Finished off the beef taco's...…… Had a DQ Oreo cookie blizzard, before dinner. I'm now too full!

The DQ Blizzard Diet! Enjoy a blizz before dinner, then you're too full to eat! You ever try the Heath Bar Blizzard? That was my favorite when I was 20 years younger and my cholesterol level was 50 points lower.

A couple of brisket flats. Started on the smoker, finish in the oven. Charcoal, pecan and oak mix. One for our neighbor who let us have the oak from his property. One for the freezer. Also, have a few split chicken breasts on for our other neighbors. After all the s**t neighbors we've had over the years, it's nice to have neighbors who are cool.

For our birthdays, my aunt would buy Neopolitan ice cream and then slice up a hunk & put it in between two warm waffles!
    Yummy!

Was at Costco yesterday and grabbed a chunk of halibut. Had some tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini from the garden so tossed all that on a sheet pan with some seasoning and cooked it off. Pretty tasty. Oh, threw in some green beans too but they weren't out of the garden. :(

Made some turkey burgers the other night that ended up pretty tasty. Did a Mediteranian inspired seasoning on a couple and liked it a lot. Used Cinnamon, Cardamom, coriander and a touch of cayenne and of course salt a pepper. Tasty.

I've only had Oreo blizzards. Should try other flavors...………… Tonight is either cheeseburger, poutine and milkshake at Triple O's or a meat lovers pizza from the place up the street from me. Haven't decided yet.

That's a deal my friend! Not as good as the bird we enjoyed together at Mickelthwaites, but it was pretty good. I think if I had planned it better, would have done a brine. But, it was pretty moist nonetheless.

Since I had the smoker going last night I also threw on some chicken boobs for the ladies next door. They're up there in age, so I went light on salt and seasonings as we didn't know if they're on a restricted diet. Color looks great.

We had the root vegetable soup I posted earlier for dinner tonight.

AzIt - you in London yet?

My mom made a big batch of a seafood soup. So I helped my parents eat it. Had scallops, shrimp and salmon in it. Was very good. Went well with my sashimi lunch today.

Sounds like a cioppino or bouillobaise (sp?).
    Tomato based broth.

We kept a brisket flat for ourselves from all the smoking I did two days ago. Enjoying that tonight.

Forgot the obligatory smoke ring pic. Think is came out well.
To reheat, I like to take out of the fridge for about 30 mins or so, then slice, then cover with a damp paper towel, then warm on 40% microwave power until it's hot enough for the wife.

    Leftovers this week as well.
This started out as my lunch, but became dinner since I was too full to eat much the rest of the day.

470 BBQ on Argyle, Texas. Had lunch with some Porsche friends. Above is brisket and turkey. Both very good. The sides are also excellent, especially the green chile cream corn.
