There's a place near here that says they stock Rancho Gordo beans. I sense a mission!

I always bread them, its my moms recipe. Not sure how she got it. She collects cookbooks.

I bought them frozen and thought they be defrosted. Not! Looking at ordering the pizza of the day special at Pizza Hut or McDonalds. The pizza of the day is a med for $10. A different kind of pizza for each day of the week. Haven't checked what todays pizza is.

That looks like a fancier version of the beer bread that an F-chatter posted a while back. How did it taste?

Gotcha! For the life of me, I kept puzzling over what "Florida style" might mean in that context...T

I had some leftover almonds and peanuts lying around. Tried honey roasted for the first time.

Came out pretty good...1/3rd cup honey, table spoon of butter. Table spoon if maple syrup. Teaspoon of chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, cinnamon, and some salt/pepper. Sriracha to taste and a couple drops of vanilla.

Mix in a bowl. Spread out on baking pan. 20 minutes @350. You may need less with your oven. I would stir every 5 to 8 minutes. When finished I sprinkle salt and brown sugar.

Let cool for atleast 10 minutes so it gets crunchy again.

Came out good. A little over done on the crust because I messed up on timing. Very moist.

FYI: 3 instant oatmeal packets equals one cup. ;)

Think this is way over seasoned but we'll see, im trying something different; top roast.

Seasoning is a made up Mediterranean blend, but this will be missing lemon and mint which are two musts for Mediterranean food for me.

Forgot the picture and I was all confident I was finally doing everything good this go round and not forgetting anything. Except the first 40 minutes or so were over the open flame because I forgot to close the direct flame shield. Oh well it didn't look like it really cooked much because of the deflection pan and temp set at 225.

Lmao, I did it again! This is what ADD is like. Lol

I was born and raised in the mighty San Joaquin Valley.

We would only have them in a scant few steakhouses (F. McLintock's in Pismo Beach on Central Coaat being most well known & best legs/ass I've ever seen on a waitress - just ask my Ex-"see anything you like?"-w-w-wife. Worth It!) and via my Mom's Stepfather.

He prepared his as a full-of-veg. chili - something akin to pinquito beans with pico di gallo sans cilantro, but with a wee bit of celery & was actually a meal in itself, whereas the restaurants added little and let the broth do the talking and you the sopping of every last molecule. The combination of either with oaked beef or lamb shashlik (3 spring lambs every Fall!) and garlic bread is to die for.

It isn't! That is because the honey gets sticky and it is freaking hot. So if you grab it early you will have a very hot peanut that is stuck to your skin because of honey. Take it from someone who knows!

BTW - Well worth a try...super easy and if you like roasted peanuts/cashews/almonds you can experiment with the seasoning and get it just the way you like.
