Inspired by this post, and a whole mess of white beans that we bought at the onset of the pandemic, I whipped up a batch of beef t'fina pkaila.

    Also from this recipe.
    https://www.latimes.com/recipe/tfina-pkaila-with-beef

Didn't have a lot of spinach in the garden yet, so mixed it with chard. Saw a different recipe that suggested adding a little harissa, which I have, so I added that.

    Pics to follow....T

This is much higher on the meat to spinach ratio that the recipes I saw. The chuck roast was very tender though. Navy beans made it more filling. We enjoyed it with a little Greek tomato salad...T

Made clam chowder tonight. Was fun, quick and fairly easy to make. Came out excellent. Used a lot of butter/flour/half and half roux. We also put loads of clams to fix the “where’s the clams” problem I’ve run into at too many restaurants…and a bit of vinegar to brighten it.

Had BBQ at Dad's for Father's day. Costco prime NY's and some octopus I found at the store the other night. Four big 'ole steaks for thee people but they were two to a pack, what was I supposed ta do!?! :) Leftovers! Especially since I was the only one who ate octopus and none of ate more than half a steak! Oh, I made some herb butter to go on the steaks too. One with just garlic and parsley, and one wit all that and some jalapeno and fresno peppers. That was tasty! I'm usually pretty simple with a decent steak, salt and pepper and a touch of onion powder, but this was a good addition.

I have had frozen NY Pizza that is far superior to both fresh boxed pizza chains and restaurant served.

Not even close. My dad used to mail me 2-3 pies at a time for nearly 30 years. Heat them up in the oven a couple of slices at a time.

I do not know the name of the brand.

Let me guess. I think it is Brooklyn-style Pizza ? Not much help. I know.

The frozen pizza is located at the local supermarket. No clue if the company will wholesale direct. Probably quite a few NYC on-line pizza companies (genuine NYC pizza) will ship a few frozen pies direct, by UPS or FedEx. These companies know we are often stuck with terrible pizza.

The chains are horrible and several restaurant served pizzas are not much better.

At this point we almost never buy any pizza. Pizza quickly expands the size of your waste !

We are both in the downward Post-Covid spiral. Last week at the supermarket I thought about buying German sauerkraut :D.

The wife baked a baguette to go with some delice de bourgogne cheese we had. Was yummy.

(she made it her main/only course....I had some leftovers of the clam chowder from yesterday after the bread/cheese)

A little over a half a pod of garlic in the meatballs about the same amount in the sauce and a boatload of freshly grated pecorino in the meatballs.

As with everything, nothing measured. And if it seems like it’s a bit too much add a little more.

As Michelle Pfeiffer said “Nothing exceeds live excess.”

Man, that cheese just looks fabulous. Add it to homemade bread and you're living the good life. No vino to go with?

Her? Is she cute!!? Nothing hotter than a gal who is good with numbers! (science geek speaking!)

Anything on the menu with the word "Slam" in the name and you're good to go, Max.

Reminds me of our cross country trips when wife and I were young and pinching pennies. We'd sleep in our truck at rest stops. Drive more at night when it was cooler and less traffic. Often we'd stop at Denny's and share a Grand Slam. If you like people watching, Denny's at 4 AM is the place for you!

She's not good looking at all, not even cute.

Had the Superbird sandwich with onion rings. It was o.k.............. Its a PITA, we are audited every quarter. Audit coming up, our bookkeeper though makes it easy and in turn keeps the bill down from the accountants.
