Had a pizza delivered from Pizza Hut, last night. Meat lovers. My mom hasn't decided what she wants for her birthday dinner. Down to two choices. Fish and Chips or Chinese food. Was going to go into Costco this morning, but if Chinese its near the warehouse. So I'm waiting for her decision before going to Costco.

I’ll admit right up front that I’m going to overload on pics. That is because this was a top 5 beef of my life. Every once in a rare while I nail a cook, and tonight I got lucky and did it with a superior piece of beef. Wow…perfect seasoning, done-ness, and char, to go with insanely tender 6-week dry aged “older” wagyu ribeye. Absurdly good. Served with a grilled potato with chives from the garden, and mushrooms with thyme from our garden. Had a Phelps Cabernet to drink. Ania made a ricotta cheesecake for later. Now listening to her play piano while I finish up the wine. Great birthday evening. Happy belated birthday @arizonaitalian My mom picked Chinese catering to my brother like I did. They raised the price on the dinner for 6. It was $70 and its now $85. Not surprised in Canada, inflation is at an 18 year high. Seeing cost increases everywhere.

I'm going to get sushi with my dad. Dine in if we can figure out the governments new covid vaccine proof app. I was checking out the restaurants online menu and their prices have increased. My sushi boat was $37 and now its $42. My dads chicken Udon was $12.95 and now its $14.95. Inflation is making eating out more expensive. It will be interesting to see how much our bill goes up from $66 plus I leave a $15 tip.

Ended up having a power failure. Power was out all over town and that included my favorite Japanese restaurant in this area. So no sushi. At least my cooktop or whatever its called is gas. Made Kirkland pesto over linguine and added some shrimp. Wasn't bad, sushi would have been better.

Sushi tonight with my dad................................ Hopefully the power stays on. Been out twice this afternoon and most of last night. Can see the crews working on the lines.
Brother is over with my Dad to watch UFC. Still kind of full from lunch. Don't think I could eat all my regular sushi order. Since my brother doesn't like Japanese or fish, our options are limited with him. Probably get pizzas delivered.
