I just received an explanation of Magneto’s pricing policy. In the past there were different subscription rates depending on the address of the subscriber, and no distinct shipping charges. Now they charge the same subscription rate worldwide and then add a shipping charge depending upon destination address. I expect that this type of pricing model will take hold throughout the industry.

Especially with the way postage costs are going! Cost me £26.45 to post 2 books to the states last week.

They must have been thin. A few months ago I posted several of my Maserati the Citroen years book from France to USA -3,5 kilos each- and it was sixty plus Euros each.

Yes, one of each of my Motor show books so just under 1.5kg.
Only when I left the post office did I realise if I'd sent the 2 books seperately I'd of saved around £12 :(

Not new (although I'm not sure exactly when they were first published) and not exactly periodicals either, although published by the French magazine Autohebdo are these:

Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Each is 100 or so pages, softbound. Very nice but French language only. €9.90 each (+P&P if you buy from the Autohebdo website). There are five Ferrari-related issues. The four pictured plus one that has just appeared on Ferraris at Le Mans. Also one on Senna and one on Loeb.

Octane magazine seems to have serious delivery problems now.
Today, Tuesday 21st June 2022, I received here in Zurich, Switzerland, Octane magazine of May 2022, issue #227. It shows Nick Mason's 250 GTO on the cover.
At least two full months too late, it would normally have arrived sometime in April 2022.
I also haven't received yet Octane mag of June and/or July 2022. Not sure if the mag still exists?
I have been a longtime subscriber........

Latest Octane just published today. You can see the covers here: https://www.newsstand.co.uk/search/octane (amongst other places). I would hope international subscribers will receive their copies in due course. Still quite a lot of transport disruption resulting from covid though and I imagine books and magazines are often not the highest priority for shipping.

Ah, I forgot that site didn't work for you before for something. They obviously don't like Switzerland for some reason. Even though it clearly says they deliver worldwide!

    Here is a screenshot.

For anyone interested, the new issue (Aug 22 in the image), which I haven't seen yet, says it has an article talking to Fioravanti about the Daytona Spider amongst other things.

Hi from Aix en Provence Marcel: after my two articles on the ultimate Citroen SM Maseratis in issue 227 and 229 I will do an article on a Swiss item next month;-) It will come out in an autumn issue.

Thanks to jtremlett for posting the Octane cover images. Now I can see that in the USA our subscriptions, on average, are running two issues behind. A friend of mine and I only received our copies of the June issue yesterday.

After a couple massive mails I received this today in one package:
    Octane 228, 229 and 230.
I wonder what happened to the three regular issues, apparently sent individually months ago.......

The covers shown in Marcel's photo are of the subscriber editions not the newstand edition.

Correct. I think Octane might be the only automotive magazine that does this.

Road & Track did that for a while a few years ago. Frankly, I prefer the newsstand covers, since I want to see the contents of a magazine at a glance when I look at the cover.

I also like when magazines made with "perfect" binding put a sampling of the issue's contents on the spine along with the name and date.
