Common problem with Brit mags being too parochial, giving more pages to an Alvis meeting in Bognor Regis than to Monterey week. Another issue is the use of ancient oddball expressions no one outside the UK has ever heard or understands, such as offside and nearside. If an editor introduces one in my articles prior to finalization I ask for less obscure wording.

Yes, agree completely, although I rather enjoy the quaint britishisms and they seem to be less and less frequent.

In the aviation press, I got quite used to seeing the term "undercarriage" or even "undercart" for the landing gear, but the term "airscrew" for propeller seems to have largely disappeared.

That’s pretty good for an abbreviated magazine review. May I suggest you post it in the book collectors’ thread as well?

With respect to the very apropos mention of Hoare, Swaters and Chinetti, the fact is that none has had a biography worthy of the man. Swaters’s was mostly about Equipe Nationale Belge; as much respect..and it’s substantial..as I have for Doug Nye his book on Col. Hoare reads like a hagiography; and the starcrossed Chinetti biography/N.A.R.T. history has had yet another setback with the recent death of publisher David Bull, preceded a couple of years ago by the passing of author Michael Lynch.

The new May/June issue of Vintage Motorsport magazine has a six-page article on Preston Henn's famous 275 GTB/C, 06885GT, with quite a few photos showing the car's history.

The first issue showed up on the newsstand in my local Barnes & Noble bookstore. After flipping thru it, I decided to buy it, and after going through it, I like it. (Much better than The Road Rat, which I just did not care for.) Hopefully I'll be able to buy further issues the same way. Thumbs up to Mr. Sonnery's work!

Inaccurate story of that Daytona Spider, and it is a conversion as well.

I miss the FT. I cancelled after they ceased printed delivery in my area. There’s an article about the 330LMB recreation in a recent Octane. I think it’s brilliant and I’d have it in a minute....The 330LMB has long been one of my favorite Ferraris, even in this form.

Actually the article was not such a big deal, but it was nice to see that they touched on the subject.
Life without the FT is quite a hardship ;)

I know Magneto magazine isn't specifically a Ferrari publication but I had cause to send an email earlier today to the editor, David Lillywhite, about a small error in an article on their website. I received a very nice reply in a very short time (and the error is being corrected). I just thought it was worth mentioning here because, as we know, not all magazines engage with their readers and those that do ought to receive due praise, just as those that don't receive the criticism they are rightly due.

Also, worth mentioning that the magazine is excellent.

Yes, I had a similar experience with Lillywhite when the magazine was launched, having to do with a web site problem.

I agree, it is excellent. I wish them well.
