Am I the only one sick and tired of hearing about Grey's Anatomy? I gave this show a try last season since my roommate is one of the crazed fans. Watched 2 or 3 episodes. Not funny and bad acting are two side notes that stick out to me. It's like trying to watch a Soap Opera; a la Day's of Our Lives. I think I'm more annoyed because I can't turn a corner at work or on the street without hearing a mention of this show. I know I can't be alone here. Or am I......?
I've raised 5 kids. One of the boys is named 'Grey'. I can't get past the title of the show...never watched it.
Hate all of those too. You might be amazed how many guys I hear wrapped in conversation about the show at work. It sort of creeps me out.
I dont get the GA thing either... chick Im dating thinks its the best show ever so I gave it a shot. Seems like every other 'chick' show on TV. I made her watch Season 3 of Miami Vice to show her a real TV show !
Yup... In fact, I'm having a hard time finding anything on TV anymore. I've been watching Psych, though. Anybody watch that one? Still quite dumb, but at least I laugh in amusement instead of amazement.
I love The Office. I dont really understand the hype about Grey's Anatomy. All the show's I hate have been cancelled: Friends, Fraiser, Will and Grace...Grey's Anatomy has to be next then.
I don't watch the show so I didn't know the guy, but here he is in the Koni Challenge series. I didn't know til I got home that he was an actor. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sandra Oh may have the ugliest face on television. She obviously spends time at the gym, but it's time to call the plastic surgeon. I remember her when she was on HBO's Arliss and could never understand how she got the role.
I can't stand this show. I was recently in the hospital and you don't realize how Hollywood that show is until you experience the real deal. The cast is a bunch of misfits and, more importantly, not a single hot chick! The wife loves it though.
I really don't get it either. I tried to watch it last season, but I just can't get into it. Most of my friends are totally obsessed with it. They all ask if I watch it like it's the apocalypse. I will agree with whomever stated that it's better than watching reality TV. I used to love The Real World, but now I can't even watch that anymore because it's just like everything else on TV. So many shows have similar themes, too. There's Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, The Singing Bee, American Idol, America's Got Talent...etc. Basically, if you've seen one, you've seen 'em all! I, personally, LOVE Nip/Tuck and miss shows like Seinfeld and Sex and the City, hell, I still watch all the re-runs. I really like Jeopardy, too and watch that every night, but that's because I'm a geek.
I think you are the only girl I've ever heard not be into it. That's crazy. I'm not a big sitcom guy. I've tried watching The Office and do think it's funny, but just can't get into it. I'll probably become a fan when it begin's it's rerun era. That's how I became a Seinfeld fan. I agree with you on the Real World. I think the last worth-wild cast was Las Vegas. I do find myself watching it still when nothing else is on, but somethings missing. Maybe it seems more scripted?
I think I must be the only girl that watches that show because none of my girlfriends have even heard of it. I've watched The Office a few times and I actually find the dry humor pretty funny. It seems like all of The Real World episodes are a bit scripted. The casts are obviously picked because they find the people that are the MOST different and stick them in a house with a hot tub.. which always turns into some sort of orgy. There's always a gay person and a black person for controversy, a bi-sexual girl, the hunky jock type of guy, the overly emotional/dramatic girl, etc.
The Real-World 'idea' has been played out to death. Every stereotype-conflict has been hashed and re-hashed over and over, there's really no new material to cover there. GA is all about 'emotions' - you either relate, or you don't. If you don't, well.....GA never billed itself as 'mindless entertainment'. Its about character development, and since most of the cast is under 35, well, there's some emotional-maturity, coming-of-age, relationship stuff for young adults to sink their teeth into. Not much else on TV that is addressing those topics in a serious way. Think: 'ER' meets 'Friends' with a hip emo soundtrack. The biggest no-brainer Hit Show in the history of earth.
I have watched the show since it first premiered. I know the characters and all the little side plots so it makes sense to me and I enjoy it. It would be a hard show to just jump into. You need to watch the first few seasons.
