Just about every person that looks at my engine (not mechanics) notice the heat shield for the muffler and ask, "what's that"? I never really paid much attention to it, but now I do. Is there a carbon fiber heat shield, or at least a piece to cover that shield? If so, is it expensive? Would it even look good? Thanks so much guys. I know you have the answer, with pics I'm sure....

Yes, I have seen a VERY nice CF piece to replace the stock heat shield. :):)

I will see if I can find a pic. I think one of the sponsors sells them here. :):)

Wow! Those look great. Do you know if the CF affects the performance (heat capabilities) at all? I wouldn't want to overheat anything. I'm assuming that the shield keeps the exhaust heat away from the engine.

Sweet PAP!!!! I did the same thing...actually wrapped carbon over the top. Normally I'm anti-cosmetic carbon parts....but it looks REAL good in the engine bay. Just enough, not over the top.

Is heat an issue with CF? How did you attach it? Clips of some sort?

I wrapped the stock heat shield in carbon, it's been 100% fine for the past 2 years, no discoloration at all. As for heat transfer, it only adds to block a bit more heat since it's on top of the stock shield.
