After seeing Paul McCartney at the Wachovia Center last night, I was just wondering what was the best concert you have ever seen. Last night's concert was pretty good...I don't know if it was the best I ever saw, only because I have seen McCartney a few times over the years and it is hard to pick which one of those were my favorite.

For those interested, he will be playing the Garden sometime in October. If you get the chance, I highly recommend seeing him.

The Eagles were the best in terms of playing and talent, but Nine Inch Nails was the craziest and most memorable.

Bronco Bowl right out side of Dallas, Motley Crew (promoting their new "Shout at the Devil" album) opened for Quiet Riot. Small place, lots and lots of fun.

My brother got to see this one at Moody Coliseum at SMU (openers to headline):

Def Leopard (promoting "High and Dry")
    Iron Maiden (promoting "Killers")
Judas Priest (promoting "Point of Entry")

He said there was a row of motorcycle cops infront of the stage for security.

    Can you say early 80s?

At the opening of the R & R Hall of Fame in Cleveland, a stellar cast of famous and legendary recording artists performed, Ray Charles, James Brown, Aretha, and a hundred rock bands. The best performance was Iggy Pop, backed by Sonic Youth. The other great live performer in my book is Al Green. I've seen alot of the iconic bands over the years- The Doors, Clapton in different incarnations, The Band with and without Dylan, etc. But, frankly, few of them came close, live, to what they sounded like in the studio. The one guy that did----Joe Walsh. Go figure.

Paul McCartney? Ack. I've seen his shows. And with Linda, it was absolutely... well, what do you expect for being in Texas Stadium? Just short of acceptable.

Best? Difficult to name, but let me try:
    small venues:
-- Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker and the young Blues Saraceno at a small club Fitzgeralds in Houston?

    Large venues:
-- Stevie Ray with Jeff Beck?

Earlier this week I did get to check out Ravi Shankar and what I believe was his daughter. Great stuff.

Have seen lots of shows, but mainly from mid-late eighties on. Sorry I couldn't share the Zep shows of prior years. Darn. =/

    AC/DC - Highway to Hell -

Started off with Sin City from Powerage (still my fave AC/DC album) & only got better...

Never saw so many lighters in my life - these weren't Elton wussy John lighters - these were lighters from Hell...

to close out the show, Bon Scott carried Angus Young on his shoulders as they went wireless, exited stage left & were just wailing Highway to Hell - a couple of minutes later, we could feel the steam coming off those 2, let alone feel that voice as they barreled down the aisle inches away from us. They were in their prime and element.

Rod Stewart, KISS, Stevie Nicks, Genesis, Michael Jackson were my quick answer. I went to these concerts in late 70's to early 80's.

Madonna was also fun, too. Motley Crue, Iron Maiden was fun but I was watching female audiences more than performers

Moody Blues, Electric Light Orchestra, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Styx, & George Winston. When I was regularly attending rock shows I mostly was standing like a sardine right at the stage (yeah, I slapped hands w/ Jim Dandy) w/ the roadies passing joints & ETOH from under the platform. George Winston was amazing at a sit-down show when he took requests from the audience & played every one –barefoot.

    OMG, SOOOOO many!

I was the official (LMAO) photographer for Motley Crue when their stage show consisted of a stained bedsheet with a pentagram spraypainted on it. Nikki (Frank) and I used to screw the same girl. We had many memorable roman candle wars in front of his house in Encino! Bastard dropped an M80 in my buddies MBZ when I was in the back!

The Mighty Led Zeppelin. 1977 (last show ever in LA. 4+ hours of the best band EVER!)

California Jam 1(ELP with the revolving piano. Black Sabbath, Deep Purple)
    The Who (Awesome)
Pink Floyd The Wall 1980 (mind blowing)
J Geils. (Most fun 8 encores)
Gipsy Kings (dancing on the seat the whole time while ducking flying bras and underwear...no ****)

3 Tenors at Dodger Stadium (Amazing)

    probably 300 others.
