Last night in Miami Jamie Fox hosted a fundraiser & they raised almost $500k for the Red Cross. Shaq showed up & I heard Paris Hilton & Colin Farrel where there also. I stood about 1 foot in front of Shaq & the guy really is Immense. He is taller than I can reach w my arms up & I'm 5' 10" LOL It was fun but somewhat emotional I keep thinking about when I was in NY on Sept 11, its the closest thing Ive ever been to Katrina but really Sept 11 pales in comparison to Katrina
How about Habbitat for Humanity? There are thousands of people that will need a place to live in once things are cleaned up.
We, www.seecarr.org, will be sending all our voting money from the show in Novemeber to one of our members who will get the funds set up for the Holidays. Kids will not understand that Santa is not Mike Nelson. His contact is with Toys-R-us and will work with the AL and La area.
Habitat For Humanity is definetley a good way to go. You can have some feeling of trust that the money donated will be used for the right things.
The Red Cross has been getting millions to help people right now. But when things are cleaned up eventually people will need a place to live.
